The grounds settle to the bottom after cooking and don’t end up in your mouth.

And I prefer to stop the water right before a boil. Seems to improve the flavour

Yes. I bring water to boil put in a cup add coffee powder and wait few minutes until coffee powder sets on the ground. It's definitely better than instant coffee

I've done it in the past, but I've gotten used to much better coffee. A few years ago I got a portable espresso maker that requires no electricity. I bought it initially just for camping, but I've used it while traveling for work as well. Now I'm just looking for a way to steam milk over a fire...
