Pizza Delivery Driver Shot at Multiple Times for Parking in Wrong Driveway

Ashland City, Tennessee – A pizza delivery driver narrowly escaped a potentially deadly encounter when a man opened fire on him for parking in the wrong driveway, according to local police. The incident occurred on North Poole Street in Ashland City, around 8 p. m., when the driver, 18-year-old Caiden Wheeler, accidentally parked in the wrong driveway while making a delivery for Domino’s. The alleged shooter, identified as Ryan S. Babcock, then approached Wheeler’s truck and fired seven shots, with three bullets striking the vehicle, as captured by a Ring camera.


Wheeler noted that the truck was not marked and he was not wearing a uniform at the time. Babcock, on the other hand, claimed that he saw the truck in his driveway on his Ring camera and believed his vehicle was being targeted for a break-in. In response, Babcock allegedly retrieved his 9mm handgun, ran outside, and proceeded to shoot at the truck in an attempt to disable it.


Following the incident, Babcock was arrested and now faces an aggravated assault charge. The arrest warrant describes how he allegedly fired seven shots at the delivery driver, with the bullets hitting the truck. Babcock has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12.


The pizza delivery driver’s narrow escape has prompted discussions about reasonable cause and the appropriate use of force.


As the court date approaches, legal experts will assess the case, considering factors such as intent, the perceived threat, and the actions taken by both parties involved. Ultimately, it will be up to the judicial system to determine the appropriate charges and consequences for the alleged shooter.
