Do you like the whole spear or just the tip?

Some people like me prefer the whole spear, but others will only use the tip, and others avoid it completely because it makes their pee smell funny.

It's asparagus season in the UK. Long considered a gourmet vegetable due to its short season and once thought to sprout from rams horns buried in the soil. But do you like asparagus?

It's very popular in Germany, and very seasonal. Usually the white variation that I think is the same plant but buried as it grows (icbw), but green's around too.

And, yes, it does make my pee smell funny. I have yet to time how long the process takes...

The tips are the best part but I would say the spear is good too to maybe halfway down just make sure it's all green

Used to grow it. Not easy to start and takes a while to get a crop which is why it's expensive. Worth it when you eat your own produce though

I've tried it bit not keen on it, if its part of a set meal I'll eat it, and then there's the smelly pee to deal with, people who do not eat asparagus regularly are more likely to be able to smell it then those who eat asparagus regularly.
