Do you like pickled cockles and mussels?

Jars of pickled cockles or mussels are a common site, and some people prefer them to fresh or frozen. Personally I think all you can taste is the vinegar and I prefer them still tight in their shells.

I don't know if I've tried pickled cockles but I believe most shell fish has a similar taste and just by looking at the colours of the cockles and remembering previous shell fish similar in colour, I can already anticipate what it would taste like and know I would like it.

Actually I don't like either of them, and never buy or eat cockles and mussels, whether pickled or not. To be honest, I don't even trust preserves of cockles or mussels. My wife once has been severely poisoned by such bad pickled mussels. If you really want to eat cockles of mussels, or similar stuff, the safest and best way is to get them fresh and alive before preparing them for immediate consumption.

I do not like anything that is pickled. I do not even like pickles. Somebody once told me had pickled pigs feet. I told him to put his shoes on and nobody would notice.

I've had mussels but not pickled. I've had pickles but not musseled or muscled. I've never had cockles pickled or cockles in general. I've had cocks muscled tho.

I like the canned smoked oysters and smoked mussels and enjoy them on a cracker.

I think you are asking that question on the wrong side of the pond. You will find here it is fresh mussels and I don't think many people know what a cockle is [ a small clam] let alone pickled. They are ok but not a go to.
