Normally, I start off good. I'll pop it in my mouth and suck gently while rolling it around and caressing it with my tongue to extract its sweetness. But sooner or later, the teeth come into play, and I find myself crunching away and disappointed it never lasted as long as I hoped.

So how do you suck on a hard one?

There's an old tootsie roll pop commercial that talks about this same thing. Eventually you bite the hard middle. I do the same with hard candy... suck and suck until it gets small enough to bite.

I do the same. roll it around in my mouth... to get the 'coating off of the outside, and then try my teeth on it to see if it has a soft center... and if not sometime get bored and spit it out... then go brush my teeth and rinse out.
