What about you? ^-^

It is in mine. ๐ง๐พโโ๏ธ๐
What about you? ^-^

Itโs too many carbohydrates the Chinese like to eat a lot of rice every day but thatโs too much and it gets boring after a while unless you have like pork fried rice, ham, and all that egg stuff in there like the American Chinese restaurants have itโs pretty good but not for every day use. Was your past account formally known as Joy girl? If so we always had nice conversations in the questions and one day you blocked me out of the blue because I followed you for like five minutes and you got mad or something. I donโt follow anybody. I just wanted to see what your account was about, but you took it the wrong way. I remember you used to follow me
Yea, this is JoyGirl. ๐๐ง๐พโโ๏ธ๐ซง
I donโt remember ever blocking you. Maybe it was someone else. ๐ค
Thank you! ๐๐๐
You are welcome! ๐
Itโs my number one basic ingredient, before pasta and potatoes. 🤤👍
@sweetjoygirl
By the way, do you spice up the rice and if yes, how?
Yes, I do. If I am eating the rice just white, I make a stew to go with it. Then other times I make it fried or jollof. ๐
@sweetjoygirl
I am just throwing a bouillon cube in it. But I am looking for more individual variations on how to use spicesโฆ ๐ค
You are German, right? ๐
Oh, yes, very much so. ๐
Oh, yes.
My dear German friend, you need to explore spices. ๐
Do you want advice?
Yes please. ๐
You need these essentials in your spice cabinetโฆ
Salt
Basil
Parsley
Paprika
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Cumin
Turmeric
Crushed Red Pepper (go easy on this one, since we have established your origin ๐
)
You can cook with those daily. Some are better in some dishes and others in other dishes.
If you want to give your white rice some flavour, you can fry some onions, add some veggies, and the season the veggies. Use salt, basil, paprika, onion powder, a bit or garlic powder, and turmeric (a little bitโฆdonโt over do itโฆit wonโt taste nice). You can add crushed red pepper to make it spicy. ^-^
Of**
Thanks. I will certainly try the onion method, that sounds interesting.
Most of the spices I should have already, I put red pepper and paprika on every meat and fish I fry. I think paprika is the number one spice in German kitchens. ๐
Fr? :o
The internet is lying, then. Germans do use spices. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
The Internet has people believe Germans sleep in their jackboots, bark orders 24/7 and donโt know what humor is. So there is thatโฆ
By the way, there is no German cuisine. Itโs all regional and very different, north to south, east to west.
Ooooh, noice!
There is this lady online who is married to a German guy, and she makes him seem like a tasteless person.
I am glad we had this conversation, tho! It sheds light on the truth! ๐
Oh, I totally get the appeal of white rice; it's like a blank canvas in the culinary world! 🍚โจ For me, itโs not an everyday staple, but it certainly has its moments, especially when diving into the amazing flavors of Japanese cuisine. A good sushi or a comforting bowl of donburi, and I'm all in. Yet, as a flavor hunter, my diet swings widely between pasta, sushi rice, and sometimes a good old slice of sourdough, depending on where my taste adventures are taking me. How about you? Do you pair it with something special or enjoy it in its pure, unadulterated form?

Real Asian white rice, that one sold in EU from Italy, Spain or US tastes like wallpaper glue. Generally I'm not really a rice water, I eat less than 500g rice annually, mostly as milk rice.
rice is definitely a stable in my diet, for sure...
but, believe it or not, I've never really had white rice like that, in my life
and I was like 20's when I realized that other people in this world eat white rice, lmao... I've always had the "Mexican rice" which is always seasoned and goes with veggies and all kinds of flavor
never really had plain white rice... but I bet I'd eat that too... rice is life
Hahaha
Mexican rice is rather interesting, tho. ๐
yes, and a few recipes out there... Tex-Mex as well
but I definitely like it with at least carrots and corn...
๐๐๐
I prefer brown rice, it's got a nicer texture or fried rice with bits of stuff in it
More a potatoes family. Rice leaves us hungry thirty min later.
lmaooo ๐
Doesn't it you?
No, not really. lol
I grew up eating rice a lot. ๐
I eat it for lunch if I have time for a second one later.. ๐
Hahahaha ๐๐๐
It sort is but isnโt at the same time.
It really depends on which side of the family Iโm having food with. In our house, rice isnโt much of a thing. Mostly soups and stews with bread options.

yep
๐๐๐
If by white rice you mean Bacon then yes. Yes it is. 😁
๐๐๐
I actually love white rice, have you tried brown rice?
Yes!
Brown ice is good, too. ^-^
Yasssss ๐ฅน
Yes, I love rice. Especially rice with chicken!!
No itโs not. I almost never eat it. Like once a year or something sometimes and sometimes not even that. Iโm sure there has been time periods of several years without me eating rice.
Brown rice, but yes, we eat it most day of the week.
Has no substance lassie.
I have brown rice.
Nope, but I got a lot of it in storage. My grain staple is bread
i mean sure. like the ammount of really cool recipes you forego by just ignoring white rice is insane.
Yes, I have it once or twice a week. I make it with leftovers.
Nah. I'm not Asian. I'm a Celt, and I eat bread.
Not always. I use it as a base in several dishes though
Not really but I do like eating it with other foods
Hell no rice is terrible for you, thereโs literally no nutritional value and spikes your sugar for absolutely no reason.
Not where I live now since the rice here tastes bad.
Yes, it is. I probably eat more rice than your typical Chinaman.
I have it sometimes, Iโd hardly call it a staple. Lol.
Hell no
You must be from Asia
