Have you ever had a steak with a little dish of spaghetti on the side?

My father had a friend that I used to see once a year when i would see a customer that was near his business. We would go out for a steak and he would always order a little dish of spaghetti on the side.

I have been thinking about that all week and tomorrow i am going to cook it for dinner.

Yes, I've had steak served that way.
I didn't understand why.
I didn't eat the spaghetti.
I had way too much spaghetti as a kid.

This question made me think of a high-quality ribeye steak that was once served to me in a new restaurant that had opened near my home, but the steak was closely surrounded by large dots of some type of sauce on the plate.
The menu did not specify that the steak would be served with anything foreign.
There was no practical way for me to slice the steak without contaminating it in the sauce.
I requested that the steak be carefully removed from the soiled plate and placed on a clean plate.
The chef came out and railed at me about my not being appreciative of things different than my typical Midwestern U. S. sensibilities would allow.
He then served my steak to me on a clean plate.

I gave them one more chance.
I remember being once more disappointed.
They permanently closed their doors not long after.

I considered that to be a shame.
They offered high-quality ingredients from what I could see, but all had those strange quirks of one type or another
The owner's ideas as to how he insisted that his customers flavor their foods was bizarre.

I've never had steak with spaghetti. I like my steak with sautéed peppers, onions and mushrooms and a little steak sauce

Never had it that way. I mostly eat steak with a side salad or veggies.  I have cut out carb a lot from my diet. It’s working pretty good.
