Protein food intake: Sausages or steak? Are sausages just meaty garbage?

When I was younger, eating sausages was a regular thing. Sausages were sausages. Back then i liked their taste.

Fast forward to around 2014 i first started to pick up on a distasteful experience eating sausages. It made me go "ew, yuck, that's not sausage. In fact it's not even food. That's garbage". Did I make an unfortunate pick picking sausages?

No, it happened elsewhere. I cycled through a few sausages and they all made me go ew, yuck, i wasted my money, got a horrible taste in my mouth and i wrap my day up in some hunger.

Sometime later I stopped putting any sausages in my shopping card and opted for meat products, that actually look like meat: Chicken, filets & meat cuts.

Sometime later I discovered a humble sausage butcher chain, that claims "we don't play by the rules of others, we produce our own line of sausages". And truly, the sausages they sold are unlike what the grocery stores were selling. I gave it a try and truly, after what I've tasted from them opened my body up to a new perception. These were authentic or artisan-like sausages. From time to time i bought from them.

Then in the year 2022 I have escaped from that region. I tried multiple times the sausages local to me and they too made me go "ew, yuck, that's garbage i'll never buy again!". Have the sausage producers changed their sausage formula globally to edible garbage or what? I can taste the chemicals and the garbage i can't name and my body responding with "spit that shit out, now!". Only sujuk was good but sujuk is too salty for me.

Today in the first time of my life (29 years old) i cooked Steak. It was yummy and tasted just like real and roasted meat. I made up my mind from now on: Sausages won't enter my shopping card. Meat cuts, filets and Steak will. For breakfast or meals i'll have not any f-cking sausages but a big good steak. Surprisingly steak isn't much more expensive than sausages where I am!

The quality of sausage mirrors the quality of the meat that goes into them. The problem is people often reach for the budget brands in the shop rather than pay an extra few pence for a decent sausage.

I don’t like the taste … I have only had one burger from prime 111 steak house by my neighborhood… they have changed the way they make their burgers so I don’t eat anymore…
Hubby had me tried his burger today from Laudree - a very nice restaurant… still not good…
So I just stick to steak… I think I don’t like grounded up meats

Understandable. What if in the Burger the patty is replaced with steak? Would that be something you'd try to eat? I remember having buns with grilled steak. Yummy.

I will try. I have cut out a lot of carbohydrates.
I am generally good with a 16 ounce of streak and salad as a meal.

I had 21.2 oz (~600 grams) of Steak when i bought it raw. I ate it in 2 sittings yesterday. For my sides i had Mac n Cheese and Garden Salad with balsamico dressing.

Aye. It's not often, that I can afford to have such a feast for myself. And that as an IT Software Engineer with 9 years of experience.
If I had a girlfriend, she'd enjoy that feast too and some hot mulled wine (glowing wine as we call it translated in German).

Brother, I've been to Europe and the USA. In Europe the sausages, that are being sold commonly became garbage, however in USA most foods are overloaded with sugar, salt and fats, leading to obesity.
Still, you're not wrong. Food standards have tanked compared to since then.
