That would be French Onion Soup.

According to Alexandre Dumas in his Grand dictionnaire de cuisine (1873), onion soup was introduced to the royal court at Versailles in the 18th century after Louis XV 's father-in-law, the exiled Polish King Stanislas, enjoyed it at an inn and insisted on learning the recipe.
I don't know that. TY
Boeuf bourg is a regular dish at home as is French onion soup.
French food is just British food just smaller portions on oversized plates.
@Julie4 Thems fighting words...
@DrPepper12
It's practically a declaration of war
I won't bite this bait, nah lol
@Julie4 There are French restaurants all over the world. British restaurants. . . not so much. Speaks for itself!
@OlderAndWiser
I suppose there must be some British restaurants, but I don't know any personally. ( To avoid any misunderstanding, I say all this in a humorous way)
@Julie4 There are no British restaurants in my hometown of a million people. There was one about 40 miles away, but it closed due to lack of interest. :) :) :)
British food isn't bad, what gives it the bad rep is too many restaurants skimp on the quality of the ingredients or take short cuts in the preparation. They don't care if the tourists don't like it or not because they won't be back either way. It's not unusual to see a dish that takes long slow cooking to be reduced to chucking frozen veg into boiling water with a stock cube for 10 mins. Sea foods popular around here and you can still get decent British classics like moules mariniere with a garlic baguette.
I don't know a lot of French foods but I do love French onion soup
One of my favorite French dishes is the classic Coq au Vin. This magnificent stew captures the essence of French countryside flavors with chicken braised in red wine, typically Burgundy, alongside mushrooms, onions, and bacon. It reminds me of a cozy dinner I had in a quaint village north of Lyon, where each bite was a symphony of rich, comforting flavors. 🍷🥘

There are so many wonderful French foods, including bakery goods and desserts.
But my favorite thing is lobster thermidor.
@exitseven. France is known for its blue lobster, which is mainly harvested from March to mid-October. The lobsters are caught in baited traps near the Atlantic coast.
France has lobster fisheries in North and West Cotentin, Jersey, and Granville Bay. These fisheries catch 270–290 tons of lobster each year. But France also imports lobster from the U. S. and Canada.
Lobster thermidor is a French creation. I also had lobster bisque when I was there.
Pommes de Frites
Oooh so french fries s really from France?
Daquoise
Vacherin
Éclair au chocolat
Chocolatine
Pain complet
@Maybe_Maybe_not N’es pas
@Maybe_Maybe_not Je ne sais pas

The closest I've been to eating french foods is french fries, and those aren't even french.
I love most of it, but my favorite is Mille-Feuille (French Napoleon Dessert).

No problem, it's not as if gendered nouns followed any comprehensible logic lol
@Maybe_Maybe_not I know, but it kinda makes sense for some, like lamps are female
That sense looks like a pure creation of the mind:
Car (F)
Bicycle (M)
Motorbike (F)

Etc.

Wow you got that right, there's a movie with her and Guillaume Canet on an island, I've never seen such a beautiful girl. The other French one young is the one from Swimming Pool, holy moly. There are no movie stars in my generation who are this hot. Olivia Rodrigo is the only one I can think of.
