How do you make pancakes?

Pancakes are easy to make and we've all got our own little recipes. But what do you use to cook your pancakes? I use a traditional bakestone.

For simplicity let's stick to the thick type such as American pancakes or if you're British, Welsh pancakes rather than the crêpe type.

Mix some flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and eggs until it's smooth and lump-free. Don't worry, I won't expect you to know how to handle a whisk or a spoon, as I'm sure your delicate hands are better suited for holding vibrators.

Once the batter is ready, heat up your frying pan on medium heat, and grease it lightly with butter or oil. As the edges start to dry and bubbles form on the surface, flip that bad boy over with a spatula. Cook the other side until golden brown, and voilà! A delicious pancake ready for your consumption.

Of course, if you prefer to sit idly by while someone else does the work, feel free to rely on your "missus" to do the cooking. But remember, a real man knows the value of self-sufficiency and doesn't need a woman to hold his hand. Please don't undermine my intelligence with your condescending options.

Like many things I cook indoors, I use my Lodge two-burner cast iron griddle.

This lives on my stove, and is probably used 5 days a week at least. Eggs, pancakes, grilled cheese, burgers, steaks, and pretty much anything you'd cook on a flat top. Mine is coming up on 30 years old.

Never done pancakes but many times crêpes and always using a regular nonstick pan. Don't see why I would need anything for a pancake either since it's very similar just thicker batter. Using a dedicated tool for something like this looks like a waste of space

To be honest I prefer a plain frying pan, and to rub it in just in case, I make my own dough: milk, water, a very little salt, different kinds of flour depending on those available in the pantry and my fantasy on the moment, sometimes an egg, a little sugar and yes, also occasionally a little natural beer yeast...

I make them like I did yesterday, by saying “I could go for some pancakes” and about 20 minutes later I’m eating pancakes thanks to wifey. And of course, I use real maple syrup.

Now, she says she makes them in a crepe pan if it is just us. But with our adult children as well, she pulls out a griddle. She is truly an amazing cook so pancakes are a big nothing for her.

A pancake pan, but one of the electric ones. I can switch the heating element over to a grill as well. It's an as seen on TV product that actually works as you'd expect. The grill is a pain to clean up though...

I use a mix off the store self and add an egg, butter milk, and a good oil. Then I mix in some vanilla, cinnamon, all spice, and once in a while fruit and or chocolate chips. some times after cooking I top with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and maple syrup or fruit and fruit flavored syrup. Pancakes are always done up thick!
