Have you ever tried Cincinnati Chili?

Yes I have and it’s not chili. It’s more a Mediterranean type dish developed by Greek immigrants to the area if I remember. It wouldn’t even be allowed at the WORLD championship chili cookoff in Terlingua, Texas because it has beans and other fillers. Real chili is the state dish of Texas and was developed by Latinas in the San Antonio area for their cowboy husbands to take on cattle drives. It had no beans and never did
I agree it’s not real chili
A chili fan I am & I have never had Cincinnati Chili before & it looks delicious especially over spaghetti. You are giving me a dinner idea.

YES! And I love it!
My wife is from Cincinnati. The first time I went back there to visit her folks and family, it was obligatory to take me for Skyline. My immediate reaction was "This ain't chili !"
Soon I was Jonesing for it, though. I get the "5 way" with beans, onions and cheese.
It's not chili, but it's great pasta sauce.
My wife and I learned to make it and our version turned out really good. But now we just stock up on cans. I either buy a case on-line or one of her sisters buys some at the store and ships it to us.
We actually have it fairly often when we don't feel like cooking. Cook some pasta, open a can of chili and heat it up, grate some mild cheddar cheese (which is what they use). My wife doesn't like the onions and kidney beans on hers, but I do.
It's a feast!
*When we are in Cinci, we also have to go to Montgomery Inn for ribs. 😃
No, but I'd love to. Specifically, the spaghetti kind. 🍝
Not exactly but I do put cheese on normal chilli and sometimes serve it with Pasta
I've tried Cincinnati Chili but don't like it. Every time I've had it, it was made with hamburger which ruins the texture for me. My go to chili is a Texas Red made with chunks of stew meat and I add pinto beans. No uncooked onions. And cheese only on the side for people to add if they want.
Yes but not a huge fan, it reminds me of a dish I had in Rochester, NY called a plate of garbage
🤣🤣🤣
I've had lots of chili with onions and cheese (maybe not that much cheese), but I've never had a chili dog.
Why ruin a perfectly good chilli with an enormous mountain of cheese?
That just the way we do it ha
No.
I don’t like when people think adding a whole bunch of cheese will make it taste better when in reality you destroy the original taste and overload with cheese taste. No thanks.
I always see it as if they don’t know how to cook delicious, they will submerge the food in cheese to compensate for quality and taste of the dish.
if someone knows how to cook delicious, there is absolutely no reason to ever overload with cheese.
I don't think I've ever had anything that's called Cincinnati Chili, but reading the online recipes for it, sounds like the excellent chili my wife makes.
So, I'm gonna say a qualified YES... and I like it.
I have been to Cincinnati but nobody ever made a big deal about the chilli. I remember eating at this place
Tried it? Dude my own recipe is is better than just about any restaurant I have ever tried.
I've never tried it. I'd give it a try to see I like it
Does it have cinnamon as an ingredient?
Yeah that and sometimes chocolate
no idea what that is... but I would try it yes, at least once
I have had both Goldstar Chili and Skyline Chili. The closest Goldstar to me is traveling up I-75 North into Kentucky, probably around Richmond, KY. Otherwise, they don't exist in Tennessee.
Well I haven't because I have never heard of it.
If you mean like Skyline Chili/ aka five-way chili, yes - I love it.
Where's the chili
LOL the chilli "sauce" is below all the cheese
You can order cheese on the side or none at all
Yeah that is how we eat it here in Cincy but in Detroit they have the same stuff that has no cheese but the chili sucks in my opinion
That is called a 5 way spaghetti beans onions chili and cheese... it's pretty good
No I haven't. What is the yellow thing on top?
mild cheddar cheese
I did once, many years ago.
I have not. But yeah sure.
No, is it suitable for vegetarians?
Well mostly no but they do carry vegetarian items on the menu though including a veg chili.
Great, then I would love to try the vegetarian chili.
No I never tried Cincinnati, Ohio Chili
Never heard of it.
No. Yes.
🤣🤣🤣
I have. 🫠
no clue what that is, but I do like chili.
Never heard of it
I have at Skyline. 5 way. It was good.
I'm in for anything new
I'll give it a go!
Fuck no. Chili is Texan and has no beans
