Do you buy luxury foods you do not need, or do you focus only on nutrient essentials to keep you going?

I made the mistake of buying luxury items like guacamole and custard when I was younger, and it led to weight gain which made me an outcast in my Chinese community. Now guacamole isn't totally bad, it helps you absorb vegetarian sources of vitamin A and D and is the only vegetarian source that lets you convert many nutrients in vegetables into a form your body can register and absorb, but I was eating it with other things like nachos, cheese etc...

Now there are many times food tastes good to us because they contain certain nutrients are bodies are looking for, so I am not saying it is wise to avoid the tasty foods you enjoy eating just because you have yet to meet a nutritionist who can explain to you why the food you like so much is good for you. Science isn't fully developed yet, and there are many things in our daily habits that are good for us that we cannot yet explain due to our limited level of intellectual development in nutrition by the current breeds of scientists in the world.
