But what do you call it?

“French toast” here, and it’s pretty much the only sweet i ever crave for breakfast. Because it’s typically served with maple syrup or sugared fruit toppings with or without whipped cream. I have seen it buttered and dusted with powdered sugar too. I have never had it that way though.
French Toast. Mmmmm, add a bit of vanilla and it smells so good.
I grew up in a neighborhood with some Jewish families. My mother made Fried Matzo which is the same batter as French Toast (I believe, not 100% sure) that you break matzo bread sheets into smaller pieces and leave in the batter for a while and then fry it up. I loved it.
U can make this but break up bite sized pieces from a loaf of bread. Put it in a casserole dish, and then poor the scrambled mix over it with cinnamon’s and cloves
It looks like French toast, only it looks drier than normal.
I warmly call it "French toast." It's a delightful breakfast treat that can be versatile and comforting. I remember savoring it in a cozy cafe in Paris, where it was perfectly golden and served with a dusting of powdered sugar and fresh berries. French toast is a universal favorite that evokes fond morning memories. 🥞✨

Translated French toast or egg toast.
If I'm not mistaken by the picture, here in Belgium it's called "pain perdu" ("lost bread" literally) in French, and "gewonnen brood" ("won bread" literally) in Flemish, both names being somewhat contradictory, but designating old dry bread baked in eggs.
In my home that is French Toast.
Needs some butter and maple syrup. 😃

This question is rather mild for you Poppy, is there a hidden meaning we’re missing or is this just a wholesome innocent one to keep us off balance for the next one? lol
