I cook pretty much every 2 to 3 days consistently. Most of the time, it's just innovating with whatever's left in the pantry. To me, most of the time, it's a chore. And even though I cook all the time, I'm not a natural and don't naturally know what goes well with what. I can follow a recipe relatively well and have a few recipes in my consistent repertoire, but I definitely prefer going out to eat. It's zero stress and I don't have to worry about anything. Just getting whatever food and drinks I want. If money was not an issue, I would be eating out all the time. But being smart financially means that you should cook regularly.

Oh I love me some professionally prepared food from the hands of a chef. But I also realize that restaurant food is designed to taste great, not necessarily to be healthy. So I'll eat a meal out once or twice a week but other than I'm pretty disciplined about what I put in my body. And at home I can control that. Fresh whole vegetables, limited salt and sugar, low fat proteins like chicken, turkey, and fish, and legumes. This will give some people the ick but, I love sardines on crackers as a snack, LOL.

I definitely prefer home cooked food because it is healthier and tastes better, but sometimes we do not have time to cook or run out of supplies to make good home cooked meals. Or sometimes the meals we want to eat are not worth buying ingredients for, since the ingredients we need are sold in bulk sizes too big for a single meal.

I cook at home.
I'm lazy and sometimes I have zero motivation to cook. In this case I cook something simple like pancakes or a soup if I have frozen stock. Sometimes I cook something that needs more effort like venison goulash and freeze part of it or give it my brother who has probably a black hole in his stomach.

I am fine either way, but with limited options where I live, taking out gets old pretty fast, plus it is really expensive over time. I am not the best cook, but I am serviceable. My boyfriend and I take turns cooking so nobody is forced to carry the load.

I would on occasion at least once a week visit a restaurant. If it's " on the run " nothing processed with sugars and sodium.

There are numerous products that you simply must never consume.

Takeout is rarely the option for me … I go out and eat or I stay home and eat. Take out and delivery is either low quality , low quality and unhealthy or low quality , unhealthy and cold when you get to eat , warming up just decreases the quality.

Homemade meals are always so much better. But because I cook every day of the week I usually take Saturday as a day off from cooking and we order take out or just go out to eat.
