Sláinte! 🥃 It’s Burns Night here in Scotland tomorrow (Jan 25th) in honor of our national poet, Robert Burns 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

​I’m posting a day early as I’m currently on holiday and will be busy celebrating! Even though I’m Scottish, it has actually been over 15 years since I’ve attended a formal Burns Supper, so I am beyond excited 😅

​We’ll be enjoying the traditional feast of haggis, neeps, and tatties (or turnips and potatoes for the non-Scots! ❤️)

I've always been amazed there's a night dedicated to a poet. Not a great king, a warrior, a leader, but a simple poet. The fact out of all the people Scotland could have chosen the fact they picked a poet speaks volumes of national identity

I've heard of it. A family friend went to a formal supper. He said they address the haggis, which is one of Rabbie Burns' most famous poems.
