I lean slightly toward winter food, but I truly enjoy both ❄️🔥

Winter dishes feel like a warm hug: slow braised meats, rich ramen, creamy risotti, baked lasagna, and long-simmered stews. They remind me of foggy evenings in Bologna with a bowl of tortellini in brodo.

Summer food excites the explorer in me: cold soba in Tokyo, fresh seafood crudo on the Italian coast, smoky street yakitori, bright salads, and gelato on hot nights.

If I must choose, winter wins by a spoonful, mainly for the comfort and depth of flavor.

If it makes sense, I love my winter dishes (usually warm stews, soups and casseroles) in the winter and my summer dishes (cold fruit and veggie salads, cheese and wine plates, smoothies etc.) in the summer.
