Do you write down a shopping list on a piece of paper or do you get cocky like me and think you can remember all of it?

Mostly I go by memory. I write down things that I don't buy often because that's what I'm most likely to forget. I also check the online ads and write down any really good deals that I don't want to forget. There are some things I've been buying for 50 years. There is no way I'd forget those unless I had a total brain fart.

I also intentionally look around at everything. Stores put the most common items at eye level. So you have to make an effort to notice things on the top or bottom shelves.

I don't make out a shopping list.

I'm a single guy that has shopping down to a tee.

I usually buy the same things at the store every week, and I go up and down the same aisles, and I make previously a mental note if there is one or two items that I need to buy.

Sometimes I do forget but I've usually remembered the next time before I run short.

Some items I rarely buy, and I have a stock of these, so there is no requirement for a shopping list, even if I have the worst memory in the world.

Quite often, I'd make up a list on my phone.  Almost always, I didn't have to rely of my list.  Nothing to be proud about.  I'm just glad my memory is still dependable.

my grocery store has an app because they do curbside service and it helps to navigate the store. so i get on my computer and add everything to my cart that i want. then i go shopping and delete as i go. every item has a location so i'm not lost in planning and don't have to retrace steps. i know how much it's going to be as well.

I have a foolproof method. I write down a list then forget to bring the list with me. I also have a half dozen reusable grocery bags in the trunk of my car. 95% of the time I bring exactly zero of those bags into the store with me. Dumbass dumbass dumbass!

I haven't used a list I years I go up and down every aisle, carefully scanning the shelves to determine what I need to buy. Then, before I checkout, I review what's in the cart to make sure I didn't miss something that we need at home.

i use Postmates and i still forget things! they charge you extra for rush service but what they really should charge extra for is things you forgot after your cutoff time, “oh yeah, and bring me 3 tomatoes!”
