If money were no object, would you want a fully automated kitchen?

Chefee is a full automated kitchen that cooks start to finish. Saw an interesting article on this. They start at $35,000. Let's say money was no object, would you get one?

Personally, I would not. I like to cook and find it almost therapeutic in ways.

Nope. I don't view cooking and cleanup as much of a chore. I clean as I'm cooking because there is always downtime while something is simmering or boiling or searing. instead of standing there looking at the wall, I'll start rinsing whatever I can and loading the dishwasher or wiping down the counters. So when I'm done eating, there is usually minimal cleanup. And while an automated kitchen may be able to produce a meal, is it going to produce it to my tastes and preferences? I will.

And then there's the whole idea of becoming dependent on technology. I've always had the view that if a grown man can't feed himself, he's not a man. These days with fast food, Door Dash, and automated kitchens, I have to wonder if we are creating a new generation of imbeciles who can't even feed themselves.

Money is an issue right now and like you, I like to cook when I am motivated. I like creating new things, experimenting and seeing what the outcome is. I have not always liked what I cooked but that is part of the experience.

Now, a fully automated kitchen would only make sense to me if that kitchen does the cleaning afterwards. If there is a thing I hate, then it is the cleaning of the mess. You see, I tend to leave the place like if a tornado had hit the kitchen. That is the whole fun thing about pretending to be a chef and trying to be creative...

Good news is next year we are priority for one of the apartments in the campus owned apartment community. If we get one, we get our own bedrooms and most importantly, a full kitchen so we can cook. Hallelujah.

Yeah, we are very excited. They prioritize students that have stuck together multiple years living wise. They find it less of a risk than putting a group that hasn't together in an apartment, which makes sense.

It will be so nice to be able to cook fresh and what we want, when we want. School food is actually very good and lots of choices. Nothing beats homemade. My first meal will be a Yorkshire pudding as I assimilate myself for my royal duties.

Not everything that shines is gold and not every kitchen appliance is practical. There is factor like refilling and cleaning which are often avoided in advertisements. As long as we don't have Start Trek food replicators which replicate food and dematerialize dirty dishes is practicality a huge factor in kitchen.

Although I enjoy watching TV cooking shows, I'm no cook.
With the limiting physical conditions that I have, I find it to be very physically painful to do much in the kitchen.

I do make a heck of good grilled cheese, though. 😁

That being said, I'd love to have a fully automated kitchen.
I'd want it to automatically know my preferences and to order and restock itself, according to my every whim, at any time.

No, that's pretty silly, cooking times vary by the ingredients used. We cook from natural ingredients, and they vary. Some potatoes contain more moisture, some are dryer. We don't have the technology to adjust to those differences, or adjusting to my taste.

I agree. Tech is not ready completely. My dad has a car that drives itself but only on the highway and only if the cameras watching his eyes see he is watching the road. Otherwise, it turns off and warns the driver to pay attention.
