Are English Muffins foreign food?

Ok, so, like, we're sitting here having breakfast this morning and I'm looking at my English muffin and I suddenly wondered if I was eating foreign food. I mean like, why are they English muffins? Why aren't they American muffins? But American muffins seem to be entirely different which can get really confusing. And then what about French Fries and Swiss Rolls? Are they foreign? And in Switzerland do they have American Rolls? Does France have American Fries? Oh, there is just so much to ponder. Why does life have to be so complicated and confusing and multi-cultural and stuff? But that's an entirely different question then the one I'm asking this morning, which is, Are English Muffins foreign food?

The real question is, why don't we have muffin men anymore? Who wouldn't like a nice man knocking on your door with a basket of muffins?

But more to the point isn't everything bar possum pie, grits, and groundhog stew foreign food to you people?

Does food named after places get named by the people who live there or by visitors who don't know what they're eating?

You've probably learned that muffins make better burger buns than burger buns, but have you tried crumpets and pikelets (not to be confused with pikeys)? If you like buttering your muffin, you'll enjoy a bit of crumpet.

No, we just call them fries. Calling them French fries is quite funny to me. But we have "American coffee", which consists in coffee drown in milk and sugar. Which might look funny for US people.

Yes, it is, because it's not local food. Though we don't call them American or English muffins, just muffins instead.

English muffins originally came from the UK, so yes, they started as “foreign” food in America. The name stuck when they were popularized in the US to distinguish them from sweet American-style muffins.

French fries were invented in Belgium, not France.

In Belgium, we call long bread (baguette) French bread, in France of course it's just bread.

As for English muffins, it depends. If you're English but are residing temporarily in the US, are your English muffins home food or foreign food?

I've literally, been... to dozens upon dozens of Mexican weddings

not a single one time... ever saw a "cookie" at a wedding, so I am quite suspicious of these so-called "Mexican Wedding Coookies" that I've only seen or heard of, in the USA, lol

English muffins are called English muffins as they're an Americanized version of the British crumpet and thus originally called English muffins in the USA and Canada to distinguish them from the typical more cake style muffins typically found here in North America.
