What's the worst restaurant experience you've had?

I tried to eat out the other night with my bfs, it was a total disaster. I'm allergic to dairy, which I always make sure to ring ahead and let them know. They had dairy free options/accommodations on their menu so thought i was sweet. Ordered the burger with no cheese and side of fries, made sure there was no dairy in the bun or sauce. Burger comes out, there is cheese on it. We send it back, I can't eat this. Comes back out way too quick, THEY JUST SCRAPED THE CHEESE OFF. Tell them no they need to remake it without cheese. It comes back, no cheese this time cool. boyfriend grabs one of my fries and dips it into the sauce on my plate. I go to do the same "WOAH NO DONT EAT THAT". It was fucking ranch. RANCH? Call the waiter back over and ask what the sauce is with the fries "oh it's ranch because you're allergic to dairy so you can't have aioli" 🫠 had to explain to this woman that 1. Eggs are not dairy and 2. Ranch has buttermilk which is dairy!!! And also usually has eggs 😭

My worst was a seafood place in a coastal town. I told them I was severely allergic to shrimp. Ordered a “shrimp-free” fish stew, confirmed twice. First spoonful, my lip started tingling. Dug around and found chopped shrimp in the broth. The chef said, “It’s only a little, it shouldn’t matter.” Spent the night in the ER instead of enjoying the ocean view 🌊

My then-wife and I decided to try out a local restaurant that got good reviews. It was busy, unusual for mid-week, but we were eventually seated. It took several minutes for our waiter to greet us, and many minutes more before he took our order. Then he disappeared. We saw other couples who came in after us get their food. We finally grabbed to manager, who was the owner, who told us that the waiter had just quit, he just walked out. She asked us what we had ordered and we told her. A few other couples that the lost waiter had waited on, got tired of waiting and got up and left. A few minutes later, the owner brought us food, but not what we ordered. It was shat some of the other couples who left had ordered.

We tried to be understanding about the owner's predicament, and ate the food anyway. When we finished, we were given a check for the food we ordered, not the food we actually got. The bill was higher than what we ate

My then-wife and I then got into a fight over what we should pay. Recognizing that the owner had enough problems to deal with, I paid the entire bill, left no tip, and said I would contact the owner tomorrow to properly resolve things. My then-wife wanted it resolved now, got mad that I didn't agree, and stormed out, driving away and leaving me to walk home, 2 miles away.

Similar to your experience but it wasn't about me. My dad is severely allergic to shellfish. He can eat any type of seafood but shellfish. We went to one of those hibachi places where they cook everyone's food together on those big flattop cook surfaces.

We sit down and there is another family at the same table thing. My dad tells the waitress about his allergy and that if anyone else at the table is having shrimp or another type of shellfish, he would order his meal from the kitchen instead.

No one at the table did, so he thought he was good. The chef came out and my dad reminded him directly. He said no one ordered seafood.

In the middle of cooking the chef dumped shrimp on the cook top to cut and then try to flip into people's mouths.

I was once served raw frozen chicken. It came out looking like it was bought in a supermarket then when I cut into it you could hear the ice crystals shatter and you could see blood inside. Worse thing was the waitress couldn't grasp what was wrong with the situation.

I hate cheese on my burgers as well and it pisses me off when they just scrape it off. I tell them if I wanted ot scrape it off I could have done it myself. Then order a new burger. By the time it shows up everyone else is already done eating.

I have 3 kids and there are plenty of horror shows I can think of. They are all grown up now but there are still restaurants where we are not allowed to go to.

Back in the early `90's, I used to eat a lot at a local diner that Todd Rundgren seems to love a lot until, because I worked a few blocks from there and it was easier to walk over there to get a meal than to wait an hour to get home on the buses before eating. One afternoon, when I was eating there, a waitress going past me dropped a cube of butter on the floor near me then scrapped it off the floor and put it back into circulation!! I haven't eaten there since!!

It was a supposed Chinese food place in south eastern Georgia. Believe me when I say, there are no good Chinese restaurants in the entire state, including the Atlanta area. It you've ever had Chinese food out of a can, that was better. The frozen stuff from PF Chang that you can buy in the supermarket (it's pretty good if you add some more meat to it) blew it away.

Well i remember this time as a kid ordering a chocolate milk and the waiter suddenly rushes out in a panic and tells me not to drink it cause i guess it was bad. lol that was bizarre.

not that many. i once got an ice cold burrito from a Mexican restaurant and they refused to heat it or replace it, and then I found a bone in it when I ate it anyway. Never went back there, and it used to be my favorite place.

I also had the corner of the table hit me in the balls right in front of everyone and the waitress. I'll count that. 🤣

I can't remember one... but I don't go to restaurants that often, and when I do... it's usually a good experience or a great one
