Coffee At Home vs Coffee Out. Which one do you think is better and why?

I make my own coffee every morning.
100% organic, naturally grow Café Justo dark roast robusta.

I make 24 oz in my French press. Once it is brewed, I pour it into two 12 oz travel cups with sippy lids. To each of those, I add about 3/4 tsp of organic Equal Exchange hot coco powder (not to sugary). I top the cup that I am going to drink first with enough cold, organic, whole milk to make it cool enough to drink right away.

I figure my 24oz coffee drinks cost me around 65¢ a day, and they are delicious.

I refuse to buy fancy, super expensive coffee drinks from coffee outlets. I don't want fancy flavors or froth, and ordering in Italian doesn't make me feel cosmopolitan or affluent.

The only time I buy coffee is when I go out to breakfast and pay $2 for unlimited refills.

I don't do coffee myself so... I really don't know much about it, but... a couple of my friends, and my parents too... love coffee

and they all have two ideas, of better... "the better" they can make home any time exactly as they want it and as often as they want it... and then, there's "the better" they can got from elsewhere done by their favorite place... lol

There are benefits and purpose to both. I love a nice cozy coffee curled up in my favorite spot, watching the sun come up, the rain come down and just feel at one with the universe.

Coffee out is a business/social thing with friends... it's communal and involves a bit of laughter etc. It's not supposed to be consumed alone. If you're gonna have coffee out BY YOURSELF just get a thermos at home... There's no point to a $7 antisocial coffee out.

With fully automatic coffee maker it's easier to drink one at home. Pouring 200ml cold milk in canister, pushing a button and 30 sec. latter there a Latte Macchiato. In this time I wouldn't even put my shoes on to get outside.

At home, you control everything: beans, grind size, water temperature, and brew method. It feels like a tiny ritual. I remember dialing in a moka pot in Rome, tasting how small tweaks changed the cup.

Coffee out is great for social vibes and discovering new roasts, but for pure satisfaction and creativity, home wins for me.

Coffee at home is much cheaper for the same quality. And the best thing is, you can customize it however you want. You can add more or less coffee, choose which blend you want, whether it's light or dark roast, how much sugar, milk, creme, vanilla, hazelnut shots or whatever you want. Everything is within your power at a fraction of the cost.

It depends. Coffee at home is a controlled environment where I'm drinking what I like the way I like it. But coffee out is a wild card. When I lived in the Caribbean, they called US coffee "dirty water", LOL. And I have to admit that Puerto Ricans, the Spanish, and the Italians know how to do coffee right. Here in the US, coffee out is almost always mediocre. But once in a while I get surprised by a good cup of coffee.

When I lived in the NC mountains it was definitely best at home. On the balcony looking out on the lower tier of the yard sloping away into the trees and smoky mountain mist. I do miss that a little now and then.

Depends on beans.

Most coffee out is basically shitty Nescafe beans, be that Starbucks or McDonalds makes no difference.

Also, making coffee yourself lets you make a better choice on the beans you want to drink.

Coffee at home will always be better. I can make it my way. I can drink it in comfort. And I don't have to pay the cost of a small meal for a single cup

Thanks to Italy's bergamot, coffee cannot beat the enjoyment of an Earl Grey Tea.

If it must be a coffee, I opt for the home one.

Why: so that I can avoid S (tarb) ucks and other ''lifestyle'' exploiters.

The coffee I make at home, which is expresso, is way better and far, far less expensive than coffee in a store. I can get 500 grams of fantastic coffee for less than the price of 3 store bought drinks.
