Coffee At Home vs Coffee Out. Which one do you think is better and why?

I love both, but I lean slightly toward coffee at home ☕️

At home, you control everything: beans, grind size, water temperature, and brew method. It feels like a tiny ritual. I remember dialing in a moka pot in Rome, tasting how small tweaks changed the cup.

Coffee out is great for social vibes and discovering new roasts, but for pure satisfaction and creativity, home wins for me.

I make 24 oz in my French press. Once it is brewed, I pour it into two 12 oz travel cups with sippy lids. To each of those, I add about 3/4 tsp of organic Equal Exchange hot coco powder (not to sugary). I top the cup that I am going to drink first with enough cold, organic, whole milk to make it cool enough to drink right away.

I figure my 24oz coffee drinks cost me around 65¢ a day, and they are delicious.

I refuse to buy fancy, super expensive coffee drinks from coffee outlets. I don't want fancy flavors or froth, and ordering in Italian doesn't make me feel cosmopolitan or affluent.

The only time I buy coffee is when I go out to breakfast and pay $2 for unlimited refills.

I don't do coffee myself so... I really don't know much about it, but... a couple of my friends, and my parents too... love coffee

and they all have two ideas, of better... "the better" they can make home any time exactly as they want it and as often as they want it... and then, there's "the better" they can got from elsewhere done by their favorite place... lol

Coffee at home is much cheaper for the same quality. And the best thing is, you can customize it however you want. You can add more or less coffee, choose which blend you want, whether it's light or dark roast, how much sugar, milk, creme, vanilla, hazelnut shots or whatever you want. Everything is within your power at a fraction of the cost.

When I lived in the NC mountains it was definitely best at home. On the balcony looking out on the lower tier of the yard sloping away into the trees and smoky mountain mist. I do miss that a little now and then.

I only drink black coffee with no cream or sugar so it does not matter. It is far cheaper to make a cup at home
