I can cook learn and grow by going to school to improve.

I'm decent. I have go to dishes. But i'm by no means a natural. I existed prilimarily off of fast food in my twenties. I didn't really start taking up cooking till well into my 30's. And cooking is a passion you either have it or you don't. If i'm going to cook for someone i'm going to do it right. But i'm not someone who wants to put in that kind of effort every single day, every single meal. After all, it's just food. I think it's safe to say i don't have a passion for cooking. To me it's more of special occasion thing. And there are just unwritten knowledge when it comes to cooking. I learned that from my mother.🤣 she would always instinctively know what i did wrong with a dish and advise me what to do differently next time. These are things that are just years of experience teaches that you cannot learn any otger way. Also i learned (at least in my case) the cook never likes his own product. After working real hard on something i can get rave reviews but it NEVER tastes good to me. And i know they actually are telling the truth about it tasting good to them. Because what i make almost always gets all eaten. But to me it doesn't taste good. I always want to WOW people with what i make. So to me it never seems good enough.

Also i like desserts because desserts are kind of idiot proof. I'm not saying there aren't some difficult desserts. But what is a dessert but sugar and butter? I mean, it's kind of hard to screw up that if you know what i mean. Sweet is always going to taste sweet.

I can follow YouTube and cookbooks, so I would say; I can learn most simple meals. I do not know many meals but I can change that once my mother dies and stops trying to block me from learning how to cook. My dad said she might be dead in a few years, and she might be dead this year if her health is bad enough. This is the woman who tried to torture and kill me when I was 9 years old because she was jealous I was prettier than her.

Cooking is like learning a new language: the more you practice, the more confident you become. In culinary school you learn techniques, timing, flavor pairing and kitchen discipline. I remember my first pasta class in Italy; simple tomato sauce became magic with the right technique. Keep learning, tasting and practicing.
