From what I understand, "malt likkka" is the bottom of the barrel even for Americans.
That wine category is called "Pennerglück" in German, which translates to "vagrants' happiness". 😂
I found it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD_20/20
Here it was cheap wine in a carton... usually between 2 and 3 DMs.
As goofy as some Brits act, I thought perhaps you were suggesting that they drink this:
Can't say I've ever heard of it.
Olde English 800, the malt liquor people call “Old E,” is really an American thing 🍺
In England, you almost never see it in pubs or shops. People drink regular ales, lagers, bitters, ciders, and sometimes strong white cider or cheap lager for the same “budget buzz” idea.
In London once, I asked a bartender about Olde English. He laughed and poured me a strong cider instead.

Never heard of it. Notice according to Google it's from 1964. Which I guess makes it old there.
Where I live, there's a pub that's been open since mid 1200s...
Sounds like some Amerucan made swill.
I've never seen it in the UK.
I don't know, we do have a wide selection of booze
