I am Ordinary - as told by just another person on the planet

I am just ordinary.
I am more than ordinary though mediocrity has been ingrained, branded on my flesh, in my mind, sprouting like little demons whenever I have thoughts of furthering my comfort zone, to have dreams and actually live them.

I am just ordinary.
I am more than just the emotions that ravage and sink my ship of rationale as I struggle against the rocky disillusionment of icebergs and stormy waves. To satisfy the short term gratification of turning away instead of advancing because I am convinced I cannot make it.

I am just ordinary.
I am more than the physical shell that encases my spirit, my mind, my character. What I love and what I passionately pursue is not emblematic as is my shell of my social status.

I am just ordinary.
I am more than the words that I speak because even with the infinite vastness of language, it still prohibits the entirety of movement, of expression. It shapes a world where discretion and diplomacy will never attain to achieve what it had sought out to.

I am just ordinary.
I am more than the bitterness I feel when the world seems to let me down, replaying every misfit, every shard of lost dream in my face, spewing venom of failure in my hair as I struggle, to wonder, what is ordinary and who was the first ordinary person?

I am just ordinary.
I am more than the venom spat in my face whenever someone needs an outlet to vent, I see more than the indifference, frustration, anger that people feel toward people.

We are all ordinary, where our lost dreams are now kept in a box sealed
'don't open until you realise that you are not ordinary.'
