Okay, so I'm gonna try to keep this short. I don't know if you guys will care but I've never written a myTake before and I have homework that I probably should be paying attention to, but that can wait for now.
A while back, like about ten months ago, I used to not give a flying fuck about what I did or how my actions affected people. I was way too selfish and careless. I was deaf to every piece of advice I was given and constantly made up excuses to myself to reassure myself that what I was doing was okay. I went to school wearing dirty clothes I had worn two or three (sometimes even more) times before. I hardly paid attention in class because I was so busy day dreaming about magically fixing my problems.
My mother yelled at me a lot. Cursed sometimes and branded me the disgrace of the family. I was the comparison for my other siblings. The one my mom said "Dont be like her," It wasn't like I was doing drugs or getting in fights so I didn't understand why she was yelling at me. I laughed at her. Partly because she hurt me when she yelled at me but mainly because I knew I could hurt her right back, worse even.
I always thought "Does she ever see the other trouble makers? Compared the them I'm an angel." So that was my main excuse to not practice proper hygiene, sulk in my bedroom whenever I can, despise people for no reason, be anti-social at my own choice, watch my grades get worse and worse, not care about anyone. I spent most of my time curled up in bed reading a book (since my mother took my phone away). My excuse was simply that I wasn't as bad as the other kids.
It was a little funny, though. How I only compared myself to others then but couldnt compare myself enough to realize that I was being dumb- dumber than usual, anyway. Anyhow, it was up until four months ago that I came home from school one day after one of my closest friends told me the brutal truth about being a fuck-over after an argument. Never before did I actually listen to anyone like I listened to her insult me. Not even my own mother. Which is a damn shame. After that day I really looked at myself in the mirror, I looked around at the mess I made my home in. Honestly guys, when reality hits someone real ignorant it hits hard, and fast. I couldnt even say sorry to my mother. To anyone. It was like waking up expecting everything to be alright and instead discovering the opposite.
I hardly had respect for myself, ffs. After that day and over the course of the next week I dragged myself to a public laundry along with bags upon bags of clothes. My mom helped me clean up my room. I dont even know why, I honestly didn't deserve it. I started bothering to shower more often, I cut off some shitty friends (whatever you call them), I sat infront of the classroom even thought I hated the way I was stared at because of the sudden change (Now I have As in all classes besides one, which I have a C in). This last summer my older sister urged me into excersizing with her every week with rests only on Saturdays and Sundays. Sometimes she had to drag me to go running with her.
Basically, I stopped being such a passive brat. I don't know what Im supposed to summarize this.. To me I feel like I was that same brat just a few days ago. I just felt like I had to share in order to remind you guys to start caring more.
Get up and do something. Even if you're like 20 years older than me, it's never too late to change. If you realize your life is shit dont sit back and joke about it or think it's okay. Get up and do something. Start caring because if you dont you're gonna be a bigger fuck-over than I was. And when and if that does wind up happening, don't blame anyone but yourself.

hey thanks for this mytake, i appreciate you sharing your story because people on GAG here do care and this story taught me a lesson. (1) that is isn't too late to change and (2) if you were smart enough to realize what you were doing with your life, then everyone else should be too
Thanks for this mytake dont listen to other people on here who says its shit or comment rudely, I know how hard it is to admit to something youve done, and how good it feels to let it all out.
Good luck!
Okay, I guess I'll get to daydreaming about magically "doing something".
