I was very outgoing when I was younger. Everyone I saw, I started talking to. My life was but a fairytale. Don't get me wrong, it still is. Nevertheless I have changed into a shy girl who never really talks to anyone anymore and rather hides in a corner or sits around a table, just listening to everyone talk.
The main reason I stopped being outgoing was because I was at a school where almost everyone started mocking me just because I was intelligent and maybe also because they thought I had everything. It made me think that I was a selfish brat. I stopped talking to everyone as I thought I was someone, who couldn't talk to anyone about anything because of bringing up the "I" and "me" words all the time.
I still feel that way. Even this post right here, has me thinking of it.
I learned that it is a habit that evolved for 9 years now and the only way to stop that, is to talk to people and see whether they think you are really selfish or whether it is fun talking to you. Though, it's actually nice AND good to let the people you talk with, talk more. This gets a great conversation going and it makes you feel confident, even though you haven't talked as much as the person you were talking to. But think about it: Is it really necessary to talk a lot when you know that you can get a conversation going? Do you really need to talk all the time?
Sure, sometimes you'll get people who will sarcastically say: Wow, you really always take over the conversations. However, that should not let you down. It should give you strength that some people are actually noticing you and they think you could talk more than you currently do because they think that you are and CAN be a very outgoing person.
Believe is the strength and positivity rules it. Shy... Think about it. Resolve the issues that started it all.
