Seriously, girls. Just stop. You're bringing your warped perceptions into reality and for a lot of men, it's either annoying or just plain bizarre.

I've dated my fair share of women over the years but recently, it seems like I'm only coming across girls who believe men should be exactly like they appear in chick flicks. Not only do they expect you to act certain ways, which most men are NOT comfortable doing (a big fat thank you to all that bullshit female fantasy out there), but there's another nasty little consequence, and it doesn't involve men:

Women are putting immense pressure on themselves and it's turning them into fucking nut-cases.

The guys in romance fiction are not realistic. If your expectations are based on that and you're not particularly familiar with the whole real life thing, you're going to be in for a very rude awakening.

Women assume men can simply just do the things that men in chick flicks do... It's unrealistic to assume a male has the infinite resources, time, ability, and money to do the things men in romance movies do that make you swoon.

You're putting more pressure on yourselves by watching a bunch of totally unrealistic female fantasies, and then freaking out because life can't mimic it. You keep looking for a guy "like" the ones in your fantasy but they don't exist!

Yes, this is really less about making us men do crazy stuff (or thinking we're going to act and react like the male movie stars), and more about what this fantasy is doing to women's heads. It's really screwing with them badly. You'd think they'd be able to separate reality from fantasy but strangely, it seems it's becoming a bigger and bigger issue, even among older women. I expect girls in their teens and early 20s to be a little messed up because of all the fairy tales, combined with a significant lack of experience. But what is the deal with women in their 30s and even 40s? Why are THEY suddenly having trouble differentiating between fact and fiction?

I'm not really sure what's going on, but all I can say is: STOP WATCHING SO MUCH FEMALE FANTASY CRAP! Maybe you girls are seeing it as realistic or some crap, but it isn't. It's just filling your head with all kinds of impossible junk, and it's not going to translate well to the real world. Real men simply want sex; they will fake whatever they need to in order to get you naked. They don't care about your bullshit false idea of "romance".

Sometimes, we do fall in love (and no, it's seldom our intent). Sometimes we just get caught. This doesn't mean you should start expecting us to live up to bullshit false ideals created by your nonsense fantasy world, or get all depressed and wracked with anxiety whenever you can't "find a good guy" like in the movies. It's fantasy, dammit. It's turning you all into horribly narcissistic freaks who just can't seem to find the reality. And you know, it's not my responsibility to show you just how out-of-the-realm you're being. Maybe you should just stop living in a female fantasy world and start acting like real women, or something. I dunno.

Good job in showing how silly the "stop with porn" argument is. Sure, media can give us ridiculous ideals, but the cure isn't to stop watching it, but realize the dideference between fantasy and reality. Anyone who is confident and mature will understand the difference.

It's true, women need to stop thinking romance is like in the movies and books. In real life it doesn't work like that.
That's why you see women expecting men to do all the romance, but they do nothing romantic (or think having sex with us is all the romance we want).

But also men need to stop thinking girls are gonna be like those princesses from Disney. The only similarity real women have with those princesses is in the whiteness of the eyes.

Though in the end it all boils down to how gullible a person is. Thinking real life is gonna be like fiction is stupid.

What bothers me is all the unrealistic men portrayed in video games. It's really affecting MY self esteem. How can I live up to those sexy beasts? I understand that life isn't like the movies, and especially "chick flicks". I hate that they warp many young, impressionable minds and apparently older ones too. But, and I'm not speaking from any experience, I don't think that literally every man is only initially involved for sex. There are men out there who are actively looking for love, possibly marriage, and maybe kids. I am not a man, nor am I naive, but I don't think you should be speaking on behalf of them all.

There are certain aspects of being female that you inherently know are generally true which even though some women may deny or even some may actually not poses... will still be a basic truth about your gender overall.
The same applies to males.
There are basic underlying truths about being male that exist regardless of the fact that some males may not adhere or some may deny.

So even though I am actually NOT speaking on behalf of ALL men, and this post is a parody of a even more ridiculous post about men and porn (As stated at the top) ...
Since you mentioned it... Yes a basic fundamental truth of most males is that we inherently want sex first. Even if there are some virgins or less desired males who become desperate for "Love"... they are doing so because they want badly to have a female that will have sex with them.
I myself am married, and I do have and wanted kids... these points do not make the other invalid.
