First of all, it is NOT the law. Under common law no human being can force you to sign up for something. You have been conned into believing you have to. Secondly, women in combat is a bad thing. Most women cannot physically keep up with the men and putting women into war would just cause problems.
I think women should be on the frontlines too. In my country the draft is suspended. I suspect that with the creation of the army of the european union this will be overriden. I hope not though.
I could be a sniper. My vision is perfect and I'm good at anticipating.

If you want the privilege of being an American citizen, you should be willing to fight for it just like our founding fathers did. Freedom comes with a price.
There should be no draft. Military service should be voluntary. In an emergency, the militia (aka citizens with guns) are ready to defend the homeland.

I wouldn't want to go to Afghanistan or Iraq. I can do behind the scenes work but prefer the national guard. I don't believe in being overseas, only defending my territory in my land.
As a guy I wouldn't want to go to Afghanistan or Iraq either though if they had to call everyone up for war it would probly be in Asia if the US or nato don't take it to well when China's military eventually becomes more powerful and India at some point as well if there government could manage keep birth rates down to get them selves out of poverty.
@sedrftvgyhujik I don't think birth rate is what creates poverty, I think its because the system makes it hard for people to be self reliant. Asia might be okay, just keep me away from the middle east.
High birth rates lead to overpopulation and strains on resources and a low birth rate leads to high individual investment in education. China wouldn't have improved so much with out the admittedly extremely controversial one child policy.
@sedrftvgyhujik high birth rates is a result from poverty, lack of education, lack of birth control. China takes care of their people by keeping the food and goods prices very low. their medical system is a preventative one as well, allowing their population to thrive. Overpopulation is a result of the agricultural and industrial revolution. There were tribes and small villages before it, and they knew how to control their population even without birth control. Also, a lot of men died in territorial wars at their borders, also did not live that long in general, decreasing the population.
I would die for my family and my community, not for a whole country or leadership whose agenda I do not know or trust.
I agree family first and the reasons for high birth rates as well as some others. Then overpopulation in turn causes poverty via a lack of resources in the country.
The idea of a draft is oppressive. If people wish to fight a war, there will be no need to force them, they will enlist themselves willfully. This applies to both men and women.

thats why i said they could be snipers or do other stuff behind the scenes if they wanted

@SwaggaMax85 no im not a youtuber.
I've always wonder why both genders didn't have to sign up for the draft? Makes no sense really

Because we would b*slap and pull each other's hair.
But there are quite a few countries where it's mandatory for women to do so, no?
i was just talking about in america but you are right i have heard other countries that do. America should try to be like them
Women are generally not equipped for the rigors of going to war. I think that would be a bad decision.
not if they were behind the scenes like nurses and IT specialists
If feminism is for "equal rights" then they should fight to either remove the draft or make it so women can be drafted too.
In my country we have something similar and both can go. You just have to pass the test and be considered able

I don't think the middle east has enough power for the US or Europe to require a draft though not on it's own atleast?

@sedrftvgyhujik I agree, it's an endless vicious cycle.

I don't know man Iran and Russia seem pretty intent on making the draft a thing again.
Well just hope you won't have to be drafted I would join the airforce
NOBODY should be drafted ever.
Yes. Equality. Equality for us all.
There's no point if there's no war
I agree
