for me it took me a year and a half... because he was my best friend first of all and we'd spend so much time together... he'd flirt w me and stare at me.. i feel like he rejected me bc he was scared... haven't talked to him all summer but he asked for my schedule before during the middle of the summer... but he never responded after i sent to him... i dont really care anymore... dont wanna sound cocky but im getting so much attention from other guys so i feel happpy lol

It's a mistake to be friends with him. You're kidding yourself if you really believe you'll be able to simply shut off your feelings for him and be nothing more than friends.
Actually, it's not for me. People react to situations differently; I am completely over him and we're just friends. I never just "shut off my feelings for him..." I was working on getting over him for months--him saying no was just the last thing I needed.

I disagree. There are many forms of heart break. I loved him, although he didn't love me back. You don't necessarily need to be together to have your heart broken.
That's lust, infatuation, and obsession. it has NOTHING to do with love kiddo. true love is described by the apostle:

So what has this Love have to do with what you guys describing? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
