No one should be "believed." The justice system is based on evidence. Without evidence there is no proof of any crime.

Women lie more often about rape than are actually raped. College feminists, tainted by the hatred of men fed to them by Jewish feminist leaders, now call everything a "rape." Real rape victims don't come forward a decade later. They know they've been raped and they report it immediately. Assuming Jamal didn't slit their throat when he was done.

"No one should be "believed." The justice system is based on evidence. Without evidence there is no proof of any crime."

This was a perfect answer and in my opinion you should have left it as is without your second paragraph which you've alluded to being fact... but is not. It would have been better stated as "In my opinion..." because the things you state should be backed up with credible sources, and your opinion of when "real rape" should be reported is entirely circumstantial.

I agree with this, majority of the time people automatically believe the victim and some see this as a power they misuse.

In the United States, her drunken state would make her legally unable to consent.

Yes, false accusations do happen, but they are incredibly rare, especially in light of how many women are raped or otherwise sexually assaulted in a year.

      "but they are incredibly rare"
The local police of a bigger German city released some statistics years ago about solved rape cases. The number of solved cases which turned out to be wrong accusations was very high. It was the very opposite of very rare. Will check later if I can find it again.

@Yumix I don't live in Germany. And we have tons of stats in the US that shows compared to the number of unreported real rapes, the number of false accusations is minuscule. It does happen, and it really sucks when it happens. I just don't like that this is used as a way to further distrust people who take the enormous risks of reporting their rapes and sexual assaults.

In terms of law enforcement officials, they must take the tact that almost all accusations are based on something real that happened. There are grey areas, and there are rapes that are impossible to prove - neither of which makes the accusation false, just not prosecutable. Then there are outright false allegations, and of course, they really fuck things up for the accused. That these things do happen doesn't mean all accusers should be doubted and disrespected, but that's exactly how these discussions go.

There are people with a vested interest in keeping others from knowing just how common rape and sexual abuse is.

you're right, False accusations are rare. So rare that the FBI reports that since they have been tracking DNA statistcis a steady 20% of all of their rape investigations have excluded the primary suspect by DNA. Which means either the person falsely reported the rape, or the accuser had no idea who actually raped her.

So please tell me how false accusations are rare please

@TacosRAwesome he was pretty lucky, its a very clear cut case, you can rape someone if your a 1000 miles away so he has cleared his name and nobody believes her.

That reminds me. The guy who was accused of raping mattress girl was cleared of all charges and won his countersuit against the school he attended, when this all took place.

This very, very common. I suffered for three years because an ex lied to our mutual friends and others about me. She had BPD. I was finally vindicated, but it was the worst time of my life. She played the victim at a very scary level.

If a woman lies about being raped, then the man is the victim.

Technically, however, a man could lie and say a woman raped her too.

The statics for how many rape reports are false is ridiculous. I've learn to not automatically believe certain rape stories. You can usually tell which ones are lies. From my experience.

Interesting story! Thanks for exposing the flip side of the rape issue. Having said that, understand that about 5% of the guys walking around out there are certifiable psychopaths. Just something to consider...

It is so difficult not to let our emotions dictate how we view criminal cases. I only hope that the technology of our investigative processes improves that only the guilty be convicted and only the innocent released.

Um, I don't believe everyone isn't the victim. It may not be the popular choice, but there it is.

You don't believe everyone isn't the victim... so if I take out the double-negatives do you actually mean this: You believe everyone is the victim?

Very compassionate of you if you do, but you are leaving things open to believe all the liars and people cheating the system. I wish I could believe the victims, but tread carefully. I don't treat them badly - I just mind the other side of the story too.

No, I think if you believe everyone is lying then the actual victims are not heard. I can't imagine being sexually assaulted or raped but if I were to be, I would want to be believed.

I guess I don't agree. I can be empathetic enough to say, "I will listen to you; I want you to talk about this" rather than just say "you are believed". Any situation that includes lying whether it's a kid who didn't do his or her homework or a friend who stood you up at a restaurant - if they have a lie and you are ready to just believe it, you are conditioning the behaviour. There is nothing wrong with listening and talking about it to makes sense of what happened, but in any case of he said/she said, there are two sides. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

She was a gorgeous girl. He said he had always had a thing for her, and to him, a real prize to have as a girlfriend in the way of looks. When she wanted to work things out and become friends, he saw that as some sort of character redemption. His life was already in the shitter for it, but this was now after the fact. He was too caught up in her looks.

You should never believe any victim regardless of the situation. Why should Lisa have asked you about your ordeal in court, just to tell you afterwards that she'd been raped?

Like I said, she wanted information on how I was affected during and after the trial. She wanted to know if I had repercussions of any kind. She also felt that since my ex and I weren't speaking, she felt that I was a good choice to ask as I wasn't in contact with him, and I could tell her what the process was like.
