I meant "pro-choice" as in the adult male choosing whether or not to get himself circumcised. Reading comprehension fail.
You think you're smarter than me? Really? My article was featured on here for a reason. Do you have a college degree, and did you graduate with honors?
Sorry, not to burst your bubble, but the vast majority of violent crimes I read about in the newspaper (mugging, rape, etc.) are committed by men. Most people don't hold this against men in general, because they know that not all men do that, etc. Now, when a woman -does- commit a terrible crime, or even falls victim to a crime, it is often used to generalize awful things about women in general. Women are treated as a minority that is fair game for stereotypes by the "majority" (men).
I'm ignoring your other points, as I have already given my counterarguments. I'm done wasting my time with you. But I should mention that you acknowledge sexism has happened and we have some remnants of today.
Why should I have to provide "facts" at your bidding? This isn't a research paper, and the things I'm talking about are painfully obvious. Yes, the video exaggerated, but it is what I and many other females experience.
Also, women are "exalted" (?) because we commit less crimes than men
Thanks Hannah.
And motarboat, perhaps if you understood the difference, FGM removes the entire clitoris usually. That's like taking off the entire head of the penis. Just the hood/prepuce isn't too bad. Also, if you ever read my stuff, I never said that I support forced circumcision. Studies and testimonials have had mixed results, but I sure don't want to force men into anything; I am pro-choice for circumcision. But of course "I don't care" because it -always- has to be about the menz.
Exactly Confucius! And if a person of a different race told me that I can't be considered a civil rights activist, but just an ally, I'd say fine, whatever I could do to be supportive to the cause. I wouldn't whine about my "rights" not being supported because I am aware that I have unfair privileges simply due to my race. Nobody can tell them how to feel or how to fight for their cause, and same for feminism.
Women run the country? HAH. Aside from the lack of a female president ever in the U.S., the matter is quite simple. A lot of men are used to getting three scoops of ice cream, while the women have none. A woman gets one scoop of ice cream, and the guy with "only" two scoops (gasp) freak out and claim we are running everything.
I wish I could put this as a reference on my article-- I recently found this video after writing this. It was created by a man who believes in what I believe in.

Guys, pay attention to this. It's true.
The point of feminism is to achieve equality, because women have largely been at a sociopolitical disadvantage, and still are. Twisting it around into "bigotry" is just silly.
Again: sorry guys, but it's not always about you. In history, politics, business, science, etc., makes largely dominate and take the spotlight. When women have their time in the limelight for a bit, or start catching up, many men feel threatened and even cry "misandry."
Hey, I personally am fine with men calling themselves feminists, unless they take over and start telling me how to feel.
And yes, actually some men -do- conspire against women. Do I need to repeat that we don't live in a post-sexist society? Again, look at the oppression brought on by female genital mutilation, double-standards, rape culture, and other things around the world that really hurt women. The men get off scot-free, except that support of such laws and practices corrupt their souls.
LOL @ Paul and moaterboat. Read 7-- feminism HELPS men because it works towards equality. Yes, it focuses more on women, but surely you can't ignore thousands of years of oppression and disregard of women as second-class citizens? We don't live in a post-sexist (or post-racist for that matter) society. Deal.
Fairtrade, if you paid attentionto the news, you would see how feminism is still relevant. A number of officers in the military supposedly aiming to prevent sexual harassment/violence have been committing harassment themselves. The military should be an egalitarian system, but it's not. It's a patriarchy, and shame on those soldiers who harass and abuse the women they should regard as their team mates. Laws often aren't enforced properly.
I think modest dress is also a cultural thing. I think the feminists who advocate the skimpier clothing are the ones who find it unfair that a guy can walk around without a shirt on a hot day while a woman can't. I believe in moderation; I like to accentuate one feature at a time without looking like a streetwalker LOL.
Not sure; I think they just women to do what they want. The feminists that tell girls to dress provocatively and sleep with as many men as possible to "assert independence" are wrong, and the ones who say "dress modestly or else a man won't respect you" are wrong. Every girl should dress how she wants, within reason (see my GAG guide to life's section on that). Promoting an agenda, saying "real feminists always reject gender roles," etc., is not okay.
Exactly; some religious people have extreme views, but you can't say "all religious people hate non-religious people" because it isn't true. Each person is an individual, and belonging to one group doesn't mean that they necessarily represent all the negative stereotypes of the group.
"Feminazis" are supremacists that hate men, think women are better, etc. This comic is a parody of said feminists, as they are very few and far inbetween: link
By your own admission, many feminist refuse to call men feminist based purely on their gender. That alone denotes that feminism is NOT a gender equality movement, but rather a female boosting movement. You can not fight sexism with sexism, regardless of how subtle it is.
@ whymako: " not as feminist it should be" ? are you crazy? if you lived in latin American countries, you could maybe say that. But here in my opinion they are not only overprotected, but still bitch about more rights that put them in an advantageous position. cas in point: they are bitching for equal pay, but men almost always have to pay for dates, etc
Feminism isn’s about women hating men, or bashing men. It’s about equality, having equal rights, and not having her body, “controlled”. If you’d like to talk more about this, and my views, please feel free to message me.
Feminists are not, lesbians, while yes, some are, others are not, I’m a guy, I’m straight, and have dated many women, and I know other women that are feminist, and are also straight, I also know feminists that are lesbian and bisexual.
Being a humanitarian and unextreme feminist I want to thank you for posting this! Now ill be sending this link to a few guys and women who dont understand this lol. I hate that some people are taking this the wrong way, especially women... geeez!
