Girls, when you get quiet around a guy is it because you DONT like him? (Even as a friend?)?

Im not overbearing with her. She will initiate conversations with me and i'll talk to her, the only thing is that, well, she is chatty with everybody but kinda quiet with me. Like she will be all laughing and talking with somebody and and as soon we are alone, she clams up. She keeps smiling and responding when i talk, but she just seems nervous.

A lot of times she smiles and gives me one or two word answers and is kinda playful but damn it, why can't she just be herself? I just wish i knew if she doesn't want to talk to me, but then she starts talking.. what can i do? Just leave her alone?

To be fully honest here this is exactly how I act around a specific guy. It's the feeling of nervousness not knowing what to say or do and when it's just you too left alone in the room I'm sure there's probably a million things she wants to say to but she could be shy.

I am nice to her and for the most part she seems comfortable around me but she just doesn't talk much and seems fidgety. Its just weird that she talks and talks to other people and with me she gets all quiet. If she starts talking to you, then she wants to talk to you. Unless somehow she is obligated (ie your her boss or something).
Don't get your panties in a twist, showing you are annoyed with her will only make matters worse. Just show her you enjoy talking to her and eventually she'll get more comfortable. Getting more nervous yet wanting to talk, usually implies that for whatever reason she care more about your opinion than the other people she talks too. You should be honored, not upset.

You mention "not being a creeper" and "not overbearing", which probably means you somehow feel like you are being this way. What is your relationship to her?

the reason she can't be herself with you is cause you have done something to make her not trust you. she won't let her guard down until u make her feel comfortable and with comfort comes trust. also she may just not know how u exactly feel about her which also prevents her from acting like herself cause u are hot and cold and she doesn't know how to let loose with u. if u keep flirting with other girls around her or u broke her trust somehow, u were mean to her, u ignored her, she's not gonna feel 'safe' with you...

it kinda sounds like u want to leave her alone or something... if u dont like her dont lead her on. karma is a bitch. dont play with another humans emotions. either make it clear u are just friends or go make it clear u like her and ask her out like a man.

She likes you A LOT, sounds like. She probably wants you to lead because she's unsure of how you feel about her. Especially if she's having to initiate the conversations more than you do. If you leave her alone now, she will take it as a hint that you don't like her.

I get like this when I am around a guy I DO like but see as out of my league mentally or sometimes physically. I need time to assess the situation, busy thinking "omg there's a piece of hair in my eye/is something on my face/something in my face/shouldn't say that that's not funny" etc. It's just nerves creating neurotic thoughts and stifling my personality. She's interested or she just doesn't like you. Look at her actions. Does she seem shy or grumpy? Is she subtly smiling or frowning? Are her words nice or rude? Is she focused or distracted and bored? Thats difficult to figure out. Im quiet with my crush sometimes but, there was a guy who would bug me a lot, and i understand it was rude of me but i kept. quiet and kept my distance from him whenever he wanted to talk. Id say she is interested in you but is shy: )

I'm a shy person in general and I get more quiet around guys I like. However, if I'm distancing myself from him that's a clear sign that I don't like him.

So since it seems she enjoys being around you and smiling and laughing there's a good chance she likes you but just shy. But DO NOT force her out of her shell/comfort zone. Maybe you should accept her for who she is and maybe she'll open up to you.

Okay, when I get really quiet around a guy it's because I like him. I'm always worried I might screw up and embarrass myself (and he'd end up not liking me). If you've done nothing wrong, I'm pretty sure she's into you.
