Girls why do you get quiet around a guy?

A girl at my work seems to be able to converse with everyone at work, including my friends but as soon as I enter a conversation she completely goes quiet and starts looking around the room or her phone or anything else really. I've caught her steal glances a few times during all this but doesn't say anything and as soon as I leave the group she goes back to being talkative / involved in the conversation.

Any input?

When I used to work with my crush I'd act a little weird when he was around. If I was having a conversation and he was right there passing by or staring at me, I'd ignore him and pretend I dont seed him. Other times, when it was just the two of us, I would get really quiet and mess with my phone a lot. But then again I kind of did the same thing whenever I was around guys I didn't know... I'm not saying she likes you because that may not be the case. If you don't talk often, then she's probably acting weird because she feels awkward around you. It happens.

Makes sense, thing though is converses with my friends whom she's known for just as long as me and she used to be able to talk to me although it was still pretty brief.

I think you should Try talking to her. If she continues to ask awkward, ask her about it. Don't be a butt about it though. Lol. Voice your concerns to her.

She really might like you, but if you really want to know get her to warm up to you.

Get her a cup of coffee, tea, or what ever she drinks. Tell her you got it for her. This little interaction between the two of you will break the barrier that's there. She probably won't understand why you got her the drink and will eventually go up to you and ask about it. That will be your chance to make small talk with her.

That might be because she is nervous around you, and because of this, she is afraid to say anything stupid so she prefers to stay quiet

She could either be interested in you and just nervous, or she could just feel uncomfortable around you for some reason. It sounds more like she's just nervous, so try to make her more comfortable and instigate conversations she'd find easy to talk about with you. Then try to make a move ;)
