Girl randomly texts me after a long time. What does she want?

I know this girl who really isn't a close friend, just more like an acquaintance, since we occasionally see each other on the bus. We only have one friend in common, and we actually met through him on the bus (go figure). Anyway, we did exchange phone numbers after awhile, but I didn't make much of it and figured it's just courtesy whatever (I'm not really attracted to her, more neutral). After like 4 months of not bumping into her on the bus, she randomly started texting me asking how am I doing, should we study together, etc… I don't know her THAT much, why would she suggest hanging out all of a sudden?

We've been txting back and forth since I posted this question. My last text to her was that I recently met a girl that I have a strong interest in, which is true, and we're going out tomorrow night. She then stopped txting me and it's been 1 hour...

I guess she likes you from the very beginning, and she just didn't showed it :) and after awhile of not seeing, could be she missed you and saw your name on her phone and started to text and have guts in showing her interest on you.. :)

Yeah makes sense. I have a bunch of people in my phone's contact list, male and female, that I haven't talked to in awhile or have forgotten about, and I don't think to randomly text them to say "hey" unless we were close before.
