How do I win over a stubborn girl?

Pretty simple, I like this girl but she's so incredibly stubborn and won't go out with 'just anybody'. I'm also her ex but we broke up over stupid reasons, she has said that she's open to getting back together but only when it's because we both want to, she respects me enough to not use me which I'm quite glad about.

Anyway I want her back, she's said before that she wants another chance to come natural if it's in both of our best interests, but even then she falls for all the 'big godlike assholes' around so easily it's like picking up a kettle.

Ideas?

Just be around I guess. Be the one she can turn to, vent to, moan to etc... Just let it be her decision not that you keep bugging her into it kinda thing.

It's pretty much how I've been since June, I've tried to help her out and really be one of the guys she can trust which she does, it's just making that move or doing something that makes her want the next step with me.

It's always been a mix of things really, I just don't know what I can do to get at least some interest I can build off instead of the guy she just goes "Haha thanks" each time I try compliment her.

And if you stay like that too long, it could stay like that forever.
Do you spend a lot of time with her or do you just talk on the phone alot? If you don't spend time together that much, start doing it. Just movie nights or take her out and stuff.
If you feel a "moment" lol, just cuddle up to her, if she doesn't react badly, you can try move in for a kiss later. Then you can just message her later asking what the kiss meant.
Plus Valentine's day is next month, it's an excellent opportunity to move things forward. Make sure she spends the day with YOU. Make sure!
