My girlfriend won't look me in the eye... What to do?

So i have an angel who i love more than anyone but there is a problem that she doesn't look at me when we talk. She just looks down or else and looks at me for a sec and again looks away. We have been together for almost 3 years and i have been very open with her. I have shared the most embarrassing stuff & confide in her everything. She is my angel and i love her but the way she ignores me hurts. I wanna look into her eyes & want her to feel comfortable around me.. Just like i do. I told this to her and she said she is just shy. But not looking at me just makes me feel ugly and sad. Please help me. What can i do to break this wall? I never misbehave or even touch her. I just want her to be free. :(

aw cute. no i dont think she's ignoring u, dont misread her man. she is definitely shy and i can totally understand that this may hurt u but dont beat yourself up. shy girls are some of the most interesting humans you'll ever meet. she needs time, and your patience. u need to just be there for her. ill tell u something. if u try force her to knock down this wall, she will keep it up longer. all u need to say is "look ill always be here for you, you take as long as u need".

maybe she's overwhelmed by your love. that's another possibility. when you're together, you could gently lift her chin just innocently every now and then while smiling at her and little compliments could help too. make her feel comfortable, not just by telling her stuff, but by listening to her, asking more things about her, letting her know how serious u r about her. it'll all add u.

But we have been together for almost three years and she still behaves like that... Plus she is only like that with me.. She is open minded cool and kind of bossy and intimidating to others.. Its just my presence that turns her into super shy... But it is also very cute... And yes u r right... I do that chin thing and she turns pink and blushes too... Love that :) ... Maybe time will take this away.. And she will change or maybe not... But my love won't. Thanks

a lot of people feel uncomfortable when it comes to looking into other people's eyes... she's not to be blamed and you have nothing to worry about

But i want her to feel open and good. We both love each other and i want her to feel just as good as i feel with her. I dont want her to behave. I want her to be herself. To be free and happy. I feel like i scare her. :'(... Worst feeling ever

she ain't gonna leave... you can't force her to do something she's uncomfortable with... just calm down

tell her you love looking into her eyes. boost her confidence. the reason she isn't looking you in the eye is more about lack of confidence. so when she does look you in the eye try to make sure to compliment her in some way to positively reinforce that behavior
