+1 yI'm an exotic dancer so I'll tell you from my experience. I used to work at clothes stores boutiques and shit and I got shit money only enough to barely survive so thats how I got into it.
First of all there's different types of clubs nude clubs topless or semi nude depending on what you're comfortable in and how much you earn depends on which club you work in there's high class or low class. Before you choose which to work at though visit a few so you know what you're actually getting yourself into what the atmospheres like what the dancers are like what the customers are like and how it all works.
Anyways for pros obviously you earn amounts of money you don't earn anywhere else in a night/day again depending which club you work at also you can arrange your schedule and shifts according to you your life ( if you have school children jobs) and I know you do meet many creeps and pervs I mean you're not going to meet saints or popes at a club but you actually meet so many amazing different people hear their stories lives I got to meet such amazing people there and I'm close with them too like people automatically assume dancers/strippers are drug alcohol addicts uneducated but they're people humans with their own struggles lives on their way to become doctors same with the customers who visit clubs most are just there to just have fun. Okay anyways more pros are every night is a killer workout constantly moving dancing and walking around with 7 inch heels and also walking in 5 inch heels becomes easy af to you. Also dancing learning how to pole dance learning different skills and it's a really different kind of experience I'm not saying it's a good one I mean you're not going there to have fun you're going to make money. But it does have good things along the way. For cons well first off it's the late night shifts which can extend to 4 am (depending what club you work at what time they close open) and it's exhausting af but you can arrange your schedule if you don't or can't work late but you earn so much more during the night. Second yeah you're not going to love dancing for those old men haha but the younger more attractive men barely pay shit. Also from the comments it says drugs and alcohol and I agree but I don't sometimes it can be tempting or people will try to buy you some but really it's all up to you. If you don't want to get hooked into it YOU won't. And if the club is affecting you or makes you have second thoughts then you can change clubs.11 Reply- +1 y
Also more cons are its going to be difficult hiding it people will find out and will try to blackmail or threaten you so just be careful with you and your identity. Also it's only a good job if you're only working temporarily to support a better career for yourself so it's not a good long term job. Also most people will be disrespectful about your job and will say rude shit to you so again be careful about who you let know.

+1 yCons: you're basically selling your body. Not your skills or your brain. So that's exactly what society will See you as: just a piece of meat, nothing more cause you are not selling anything else. Not to mention your parents would be so goddamn proud of you. And don't forget Clients who are ugly as fuck can get a little handy and you will have to be OK with it.
Pro: it's faster money than being a waitress and actually working hard and not use your body.32 Reply- +1 y
@Josht11: at least you'd be working your ass off and not using your sexuality to your advantage which in my opinion is the lowest a Person can do. Doing a minimum wage job means you're not a lazy bitch and that you value your dignity too much to smell your body.
+1 yPro: Fast money, luxury, ego-boost... you're probably going to have a nice body and thus many men after you
Cons: violent men, prostitution, lack of shame/dignity/self-respect, you're a common target for serial killers, having to explain to your children that you're a stripper instead of a doctor or teacher
All in my opinion.34 Reply
Asker+1 yYou had me at serial killers. Hmm maybe I shouldn't
- +1 y
I mean I wouldn't for that reason alone.
I'm not against nudity or sex but strippers don't have a very safe job.
Asker+1 yYeha I can imagine. I get death threats at my current job as it is, and all I do is bring people food. I can only assume that struppers probably get that and a lot more. I think I'm going to opt on this one... probably
- +1 y
Yikes. That's not cool if you're getting death threats. You should speak to somebody about that.
Yes, strippers and prostitutes use security guards for that reason.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yPros: you'll make a ton of money if you please the customers. (And if you're a bit of an exhibitionist, like I am, you might enjoy the attention/many eyes on your naked body.) Cons: can be degrading, and you may end up feeling very guilty or dirty.

Just reading some of the comments, unless you're in a major city, I don't think you have to worry about the serial killers much. Just do leave after work with anyone or let anyone drive you home.
Pros is obviously the money. Depending on what city you live in and where you work you can make good money if you're attractive and good at it. If you don't mind or even like nudity (and possibly guys touching you - again, depending on where you live/work) you could enjoy it. Meeting all kinds of people which can be a pro and a con, both guys and also the people you work with. I hear strippers can be cruel to other strippers, back stabbing, stealing customers etc. I don't know how true this is? Probably again, depends where you work.
Cons: you have to get a license I believe (don't know what's involved in that?), also probably depends where you live? A lot of strippers do or get hooked on drugs and/or alcohol, even when they have no intention to. Having to deal with rude customers or ones that don't follow the rules or take no for an answer. Possible stokers. The late hours (if you're not a night person), if you choose to work during the day you won't make as much money. Doing the same thing all the time to the same music. I'm sure it's not only hard physically but mentally. I'm sure there's more but that's just what comes to mind lol.11 Reply
Pros:
Good to great money, depending on attractiveness and skill
sleep in.
Don't have to work a lot of hours.
Daytime hours are free.
Cons :
Nights and weekends are tied up.
Taxes become significantly more complicated.
Heightened risk of sexual harassment.
Heightened risk of financial victimization.
Likely to develop body image issues if none currently exist.
Increased exposure to drug use and crime.
If it's your only job and you're not a student, it leaves a hole in your resume that's difficult to explain.
Not a sustainable career, and doesn't move you towards one.
Potentially costs job opportunities in the long run.
Potentially costs social and romantic relationship opportunities in the long run.50 Reply

Pros: Serious fucking money some of them make like $600-$1000 a week here's a reddit thread with strippers saying how much they make
www.reddit.com/.../
Second pro is you can sleep in
third your actually exercising while working
Here comes the cons
Night shifts
maybe people you know might not be happy
potential harassment but they have security and shit
Do what you want OP no judgement here I'd consider it if I was a good-loooking girl

@cavmanier Well on big nights that's possible but I looked at a few comments on the reddit thread and went for the lower estimates.
- +1 y
@cavmanier That depends on the club and where the club is located. Like the higher end ones in LA and Las Vegas, strippers make tons of money. A rundown club in a small town, strippers make far less.
- +1 y
@cavmanier What basketball man said and my friend used to work at Golds Club, on a good night which is usually Friday and Saturday nights she can make $400+.
Most money pulled is from regulars that know her stripper "persona". - +1 y
@cavmanier That would be bartenders in classier or popular joints for non-stop work while as a stripper you might have to just hustle for like 3 hours and chill the rest.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ypros? money. fast.
cons? loss of respect for self, and even if that doesn't happen, other people lose respect for you. I don't care how much money she has, I look at a stripper with a lot less respect and dignity than I do a McDonald's burger flipper.46 Reply- +1 y
Lol, a McDonald's burger flipper is far worse than being a stripper. Far less money
Opinion Owner+1 y@BusinessBasketball it isn't about the money. it is about dignity and work ethic.
taking off your clothing and shaking your tits is neither.
Someone who looks good and works at McDonald's is someone who has said "as suck-ass as this job is, at least I respect myself enough not to dance on a stage naked."
and you learn skills at McDonalds that help in other jobs. From just being in a kitchen, to team work, to dealing with customers, etc. They help you get better jobs, where you learn skills for yet better jobs.
pole dancing and flopping your tits in a drunk's face as he tries to slip greasy singles into your g-string aren't very useful skills to have in other work environments.- +1 y
Strippers can meet tons of people that work in the business world mostly at the higher end clubs. They also can make tons of money to pay for college if they're currently in college. Then when they finished their degree, they will have no student debt.
- +1 y
Exactly. This child probably has nothing else in his mind but money. It's all about how you value yourself. My point also in my opinion.
- +1 y
@TheDevilInside I will be a corporate shark, so money is everything.
- +1 y
People like you are ones who usually end up Kipling their parents for inheritance. Putting money above everything... Your types make the whole world a worse place.

+1 yPros,
Good money if you're good
Secure environment to work in
Cons
If you're not good, you won't last long
Get used to conservatives calling you nasty names,
The guys can be grabby
Lots of them will proposition you for sex
Just a few i can think of.00 Reply
+1 yPros-Better than working as a busser or at a fast food restaurant. Make tons of money very fast. You make great connections from people that work in the business world. You wear sexy outfits.
Cons-Some people will hate you, but not let that bother you. They are the same people that hate everything.06 Reply- +1 y
If you want to be stripper, work at a high end club not some tiny club in middle of nowhere. At the higher end clubs, that's where wealthy people go to. Means more money and higher chance of meeting someone in the business world. The tiny clubs in middle of nowhere is where you find the crazy drunks.
- +1 y
Connections for what? To be sugar daddies? Lol people hate strippers and prostitutes for a strong reason.
- +1 y
@TheDevilInside People also hate close minded old fashioned people.
- +1 y
I'm not close minded at all. I do, however, still have values and principles and um... A healthy amount of self respect. And i'm not greedy for money.
- +1 y
@TheDevilInside I will be working in the corporate world someday and money is everything.

Why tell me your life story? Like I give a filuvk about money greedy people...

Good money if you can hustle and deal with disgusting people
Party while you work
Get a workout while you're on the main stage
Cons:
Dealing with disgusting people, majority men but women as well
You lose faith in men
Being mistaken for an escort
Many people will frown upon it
A lot of guys aren't secure enough to date you seriously after knowing about your past or present as a stripper00 Reply6K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Bad moral values and one day when the kid ask what work did you do in your life your going to have to lie or feel bad telling him what you did for a living

+1 yPros: Fast money
Cons:Everything that goes with stripping40 ReplyIf you need the money, you'll get it.
Bear in mind that some men will judge you for it, but these men are most likely the sort of people who aren't very accepting of stuff in general, and I doubt you'd want a long term relationship with one00 ReplyHey I respect strippers I know it's all about the money. And guys just want to have fun. I would date a stripper too. I know it's mostly about money and not banging all the guys they meet.
