I've been saying this for a long time. Face determines beauty not your body, the body is only a bonus. People say the body determines good genes but that is not true... anybody can become fit and ANYBODY can become fat but not everybody can have a beautiful face. Which is why you can be jacked/perfect body or (if a girl, fit, slender) and still be considered ugly (butterface). It's the same reason why a girl/guy could be a bit chubby and still be considered gorgeous. As long as you're not too fat or too thin (where it can distort your face), if your face is beautiful you'll still attract a lot of people (i. e. Ashley Graham, Zach Miko).
Look, dude, I really, really, REALLY don't like pretty-boys. And these male models... yeah, waayyyy too pretty for me. No thanks.
I like men with, uh, "character" in their faces. I like street boys, with fire in their hearts and scars on their bodies. I like grit, and concrete, and intensity, and darkness, and I like boys who are NOT pretty.

I think you'll find it has something to do with the question, as I am saying looks aren't everything. I mean we're all suckers for nice , its the first thing we notice about someone. But for me if a guy has nothing other than good looks going for him. I'm not interested. So I'm going to have to disagree with you and say that personality and compatibility wins over good looks. Have you ever thought that's those girls might just be after him for his body and not his face? A lot of women probably don't even like his face.

O I don't know to live longer, be healthier, to be in peak physical condition, also when you gain weight that weight is added across your whole body, your face included, also the reason why this guy is attractive is genetics, bone structure. But when you gain weight and some of that weight is added to your face, it can to a degree hide that bone structure or make it less visible.
Your point is only valid to a degree however and if you really wanted to prove your point then you would have not chosen a male model but an average person.

What a shame I am skinny fat but I am sure I am much heavier than this guy according to my height. My body mass index is 22. I am sure that guy's BMI is below 20. He looks quite thin.

Why compare yourself to a model whose income DEPENDS on his looks? Obvi he's gonna put a lot of attention into making every corner of him looking good. I like me being skinny fat. I looked large most of my adult time being overweight and obese. Now I wanna look slim being skinny fat. I dont actually see myself skinny but the term skinny fat is used for people at normal BMI, so I used. I prefer to call myself slim rather than skinny. I also dont see being skinny fat as something bad since most of people who have normal BMI are skinny fat.
I don't care about the face, or his muscles. I want to know what's going on in his head. But after reading some of OP comments and replies, I get the impression that isn't much going on in *his* head. But, I don't much care about that either, since I'm very happy with the man I've got, and I'm not interested in looking for another one. This one is clearly a boy, just like the OP.
No, there's certain types who look good with very little amount of muscles and certain types that look absolutely shitty and this guy would look shitty.

@Bandit74 ectomorph body types don't look too bad with little muscle because it's natural for them. Obviously any body type looks better with a certain amount of muscles but I find that ectomorphs can actually look pretty weird when they overdo it which I've never found in a mesomorph person (except from professional body builders obvsly because they basically always overdo it).
@redeyemindtricks funnily enough I'm actually talking from experience (as far as I can, as a woman) because I'm the mesomorph type myself and always had a fair amount of muscle for a woman even without doing exercises for them – honestly I think it's just natural for mesomorph body types to be more muscular, especially for men, so seeing a skinny fat mesomorph guy just wouldn't look right – I personally would kill to have the metabolism of an ectomorph person though!

Well, you are not in denial, which is step 1... and it's a big step 1.
I mean, it's worth thinking about *to what degree* you want to actually "get over" this, too -- because it probably won't be the same degree that physicians, etc. would advocate. There's a VERY thin line between disordered eating and *structured* eating -- the latter of which can honestly help keep the rest of yr life in order, too (at least that's my experience, anyway).
Like, my training diet, which I generally eat for 6-8 out of every 8-10 weeks, would almost certainly be classified by doctors as EDNOS/orthorexia... but my life would be a lot more disordered, ironically, if I had the "relationship with food" that everyone holds up as ideal.
In any case, good luck. Everyone's experience is different, so, if you feel like yr walking this path alone... yeah. <3

There'll be a point where, if your "relationship with food" gets any "better", you'll start feeling a definite LOSS of control. The point where that happens is pretty much where you should stop trying to move any closer to the average.
There's a certain closed-mindedness about this, in general, that just bugs the shit out of me. Like, it's generally recognized that people can be relaxed/uptight about personal space, or morning/night people, or planners/go-with-the-flow types, or introverts/extroverts, or Type A/Type B people... but, for some reason, there's still this assumption that there's exactly *one* level of control over our diet that's "normal" for EVERYONE.
It's absurd, if you think about it. Some people's equilibrium in that department just happens to fall closer to "control freak". In exactly the same way that some people are more of neat-freaks and others are more slobs.

Trust me, people have given me more than my share of shit about this. As someone who's naturally built like a handrail *and* (independently of that) someone who watches her diet closely, I get shit from a surprising number of people. A couple people have even told me that I'm setting a "bad example" for my daughter. All because I watch my diet and I'm not fat. (These are people who don't even know the extremes of my training diet, ironically enough.)
And I'm just like, nope. They're ignorant.
I have a girlfriend who is a total neat freak. To give you an idea, her house has white carpeting, and they have 2 kids, and somehow it has managed to stay white. Lol She's not OCD (she doesn't have the weird/irrational compulsions)... she's just really hardcore about neatness, and that's what gives her peace of mind. You are probably like her, but, just with yr diet the way she is with her house.

People who think you need to use steroids to get brolic usually have never lifted weights. It's easy to get brolic so long as you eat right (lifting weights actually only plays a small role, like 20% of it). And guys usually don't lift weights to get women. Most of them were introduced to through high school sports and usually lift weights for themselves.
@Vivaldi no, I assure you it's easy. I'll go from 140lbs (I'm 5'8", so that's really skinny) to 170lbs in six months. I work out 4 days a week, and really I'm probably over training. I do this every year (I get skinny from late fall to late winter). As I already said it's just about eating right mainly (I was taught like this: it's 70% what you eat, 20% what you do in the gym, and there other 10% is mainly about rest) But it really is easy once you know what you're doing. I eat six meals a day, not big meals like 500 to 700 calories. That's 1 every 3 hours. I get most of my carbs in the morning. And I shoot for a 40/35/25 carbs to protein to fat ratio. It's not hard, it's just science.
Oh and the one meal every three hours is important because on average 3 hours is how long it takes your body to digest your meal. So this way you're always full but never forcing yourself to eat.
@Miezko you're most likely a mesomorph body type so you gotta take that into account though. From previous questions I'd say that Vivaldi guy is probably endomorph so it's harder for him but still not impossible.. by the way 140lbs on a 5'8" guy is normal lol not skinny..
To me it's skinny, and I promise both you and him, with the right diet and a little exercise anyone can get amazing results in as little as a month, guaranteed.
Well, 2-3 months is a little ambitious, and it depends from your starting point, I think. I'm on diet and lifting since January, and I've lost 30 pounds or something like, but to get a decent shape I still have to lose at least 2 times this amount, and being endo, I think it will require at least one year. But surely nowhere near 10! That's just ridiculous.
@Giacomanzo of course it depends on where you're starting from, but if you're 140lbs in three months you should be able to see 155 to 160 lbs, that's 15 to 20 lbs of lean muscle mass. You won't be big by any means, but than this guy isn't big either, and you can definitely have much better cuts. Believe it or not, but this guy really isn't in that good of shape, he might be a model but he's no fitness model. Zac Effron (hopefully I spelled that right) is more along the lines of where you can be (starting at a 140 lbs).
I was obese last June with the BMI of 30. I went from the BMI 30 to BMI 22 only doing cardio. I did running a lot. I am now skinny fat but my fat is mostly on belly and chest, other than that, I dont have much fat. I only did cardio but I am sure I lost much more fat than I burnt muscle because my body looks so very much better than it did.
@Miezko Well, he might be not a body builder, but I think he's in a pretty good shape, I don't live overmuscular bodies. But what do I know? I'm just a fat blob :D
@Vivaldi Well, that's nice that you did, but with my constitution I would just drop muscle way before fat mass doing cardio only. I did that for the first month of diet just to add some respiration, though.
@Giacomanzo don't put yourself down, the important part (which I mentioned in my opinion) is that you're happy with your body. People don't workout because it'll help them pick up chicks (if that's what you're interested in don't use weights just try talking to girls), people lift weights for themselves. It makes them feel good, it makes them more confident in themselves, and they have a better perception of themselves. Oh, and it's healthy too.
@Miezko Actually the only reason I started working on my body is 'cause I get too much extra weight and I have no money to buy new clothes, as stupid as it can sound :D
So they can do lots of things. I have a body who told me one night well he was on his way to work some kids (I say kids but more like 17, 18, 19, maybe even 20 year olds) started yelling shit at him. I'm not sure what they were saying, and the way he told it, he wasn't even sure if they were talking to him. But he didn't want to take the risk, so he put his head down and quickened his pace. He was scared. Now, had I been in that situation, or had he been a gym rat like me, I wouldn't have felt intimidated. I wouldn't have been looking to start a fight, but I wouldn't have been scared either. I would have been indifferent to them. The reason why isn't because I'm tougher than him, it's because I have more confidence than him. But that's just one example, maybe it's something like taking a dance class or some other activity that in the past you might have thought twice about, not wanting to get made fun of or get picked on. It's hard to bully the kid who benches twice his body weight.

Losing weight is easier than gaining muscle. All you have to do is move your ass by walking or running but I prefer running because walking kills so much of your time. When you run, you arrive where you want to be in so much shorter time. I went everywhere by running instead of taking a bus.

Again, the point is that his face is attractive because his bone structure is perfect. Whether he's muscular or just thin, his face will be lean, so it doesn't matter if he lifts or not since his bone structure is prominent and strong.
