First of all I intended to break up with her face to face but my Freind said not to because it's less safe and less likely to escalate.
by the way my girlfriend is a really sweet Girl so it's unexpected for her to swear and insult me...

She was savage for no reason. I admit it was out of the blue the break up but still you'd be asking questions instead of insulting. Her Freind called me later on to bitch at me saying she was crying and for me to say sorry. But she strictly told me to not talk to her again.
by the way I realise texting wasn't the smartest idea but she can be intimidating when angry

Next time, say it to someone's face and show them that you genuinely care about them enough to tell them in person, that you don't fear them or hate them and want to stay friends.

Sorry, but your question of why she went savage, was just answer. You didn't have a good reason to break up with her. I think she just wasted a good 4 months on you.
