I'm going to go with false. Women vary DRASTICALLY, by age, region, race. I don't get along with Southern females... I found them to be very entitled, Mrs. degree seeking, barbie Butter Queens. I get along VERY WELL with women from the Northeast and Great Lakes. They can be verbally sharp, but they do as they say. They mean business, and give it as they take it. Women in Ca are NOTHING like Oregon and Wa (though the latter try desperately to be like the former). Ca girls are extremely open socially and culturally. Mormon girls are like none of the above... I get along well with a lot of White females in the Northeast, but CAN'T STAND White females from the South! I grew up in Black communities mostly, and Black girls from Texas are NOTHING like Black girls from Michigan or Philly! So I went with false.
I personally don't think so. A person can only delude themselves only so much. As individuals I'm sure we value substance more than style, its more about what we are. But as social beings, we're more concerned with appearances and impressions, it becomes more about who we are. I think this is where we falter the most.
On the average, I would say TRUE. Society pretends it's all about individuality, but it's really about being the same as everyone else. We have to dress a certain way, have our hair/makeup perfectly done, and be super confident. Women are supposed to be polished and perfect, and a lot of women fall into that trap. I don't know if I'm explaining this well, but let's take exercise for example. Pretty much all of the girls at my school exercise daily because they think it's what they have to do to be feminine. Most aren't doing it for fitness and are rather healthy, but they think they need to be a certain type of girl to be accepted. Women, in general, have an insanely difficult time rejecting the status quo, and just become these vapid creatures.
This is true. Men, on the other hand, are allowed to be idiotic, slobby, and we're also allowed to completely reject societal norms. It does seem to be the case most of the time.
@EnglishArtsteacher On the contrary. We have status quos to live up to. Rich, handsome, muscular, successful. Also, we have to be the persona of manly or most women won't give you the time of day. Then again, every girls view of 'manly' is different, but almost every man's view of 'manly' is pretty similar.
@MrMysteryMan I think manly is more about carrying yourself with confidence (no need to be a douche) and showing respect to others. Successful for one person might be a well paying job, but could be just getting out of bed in the morning for someone else. Muscles and movie star good looks are unnecessary.
You're correct. Manly doesn't have to do with looks at all. It's more a confidence and knowing what's right and being protective of who and what you love and standing up for what's right and your beliefs. But, I was talking about what SOCIETY has envisioned and wants us all to believe as what 'manly' should be.
No style all substance here. I read constantly and love metaphysics I love questions esp ones based in science or theory. I don't wear make-up do my hair or nails and I've never cared about current style... hell my style has me hitting second hand stores cause they don't sell that stuff anywhere else... some day maybe-lol. I love to hike and kayak and running is my life. I write short stories and am a Dental Hygienist to make my mortgage. Life and helping people is my passion. I do wheels on wheels twice a week and still catch all my kids games and carve out time for a family activity (museum , zoo or boardgames typically but we switch it up adn make up our own games a lot too).
Every human being has infinite substance to them. Some people just haven't unlocked it or realized their worth

No. Women don't have any style nowadays either. All it takes is one look at The Kardashians to illustrate that. No style, no substance. They're all nothing but hot air- and you'd have an easier time of it trying to hold onto thin air to boot. No love, no loyalty, no empathy, no compassion, no perseverance, no resilience, no understanding, no warmth, no humility, no acceptance, no responsibilities, no humanity. But as men, we still need the accursed sprites for our life-breath. I hate, hate, HATE being a man in this world.
Just because some follows these trends doesn't mean everybody does it. Women and men are different, not clones. All humans are different.
@curiousnorway Except that we're not allowed to be different. We are universally hated and derided for not being effeminate enough as men, whereas females are now derided for not being masculine enough by those who claim to speak for them and aspire to "destroy the patriarchy". Everything turns into a rant about "eradicating toxic masculinity", while also preaching about the needs for "female empowerment" and "female emasculation". SOCIETAL trends affect EVERYBODY, even those who don't follow them, because they'll face constant hatred, derision and alienation for not doing so. What society aspires towards nowadays, thanks to the liberal snowflake media, is to convert everyone on earth an identical pan-religious pan-racial pan-gender pan-sexual, and to decry all of those who identity as anything else as being Fascist, racist, sexist homophobes, mercilessly shaming them until/unless they do.
Thats like a girl saying "Are all guys fuckboys?"
Of course thats not all are but some can be. It all depends on what crowd you hang out with.
True, if they're good looking or even average white women.
But false for Latina, black, or Asian women, since they aren't prone to temper tantrums as much as white women are. Ditto for the obese white women.
Disagree completely. A lot of women in our generation are complacent, have little patience, and expect the guy to do everything.
The problem is clearly all the women in the world and not you OP.
what a pretentious question . it is subjective and open to interpretation .
Yea just look at them and don't talk to them. We don't have brains or hearts.
I take pride in being all substance with very little style thank you very much
No, they're no style and no substance. Basically, garbage.
False. I actually think there's a sad lack of style amongst way too many women these days. I really like feminine girls and think that there are fewer and fewer of them.
style because there is not one girl in the America with real hair color and it is just a style with no substance.
Depends on what you mean by substance. I could also say the same thing about men
Some yes, some no. Here we go with generalizations. *facepalm*
some are, some aren't.
Not really, maybe some are but most aren't.
it's difficult to generalize anyone.
And we shouldn't generalize humans unless you are talking about basic needs for survival.
yup.
I have no style so I said no
as with most things... some are and some are not
Some are, some aren't. Same with men.
what is substance really?
Hahahahhahahahhshahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
