If a girl acts differently over the phone compared to in person, what does this mean?

I’ve known this girl for a while now and she gets quite shy in person but over the phone she seems fine talking about anything... what does this mean?

Most people are somewhat different on the phone than in person, and for different reasons.

It likely (but not certainly) means she is self conscious of herself and that keeps her reserved in person. On the phone it isn't an issue, so she blabs about whatever.

When this happens in person, is it just the two of you, or are there others around as well?

I've experienced this before. I was into this girl before and She was most likely into me and we texted to each other all the time but in person we wouldn't not really talk to each other and act kinda shy. She probably has a crush on you or she could just be shy of you in person. But I think she likes you.

On the phone or online it's more easy to be myself, face to face with someone I get shy. This could be with anyone I face, I can't explain it.

She probably likes you but needs to get comfortable. My guess is that she doesn't have many guys that talk to her. Take her on a couple dates and she'll open up. Use the phone as a tool to setup dates, not chat all day.
