My ex left me for someone else texted me and asked how i was doing how do i know if they are feeling guilty or testing the waters

Why don't you just ask? What does it matter now that 1- she is your ex and 2- she supposedly has a boyfriend. Why is she reaching out to you. I wouldn't say guilt, maybe more like regret.
