Why do women tell men their problems but not want solutions?

To women the act of speaking is a way of relieving stress. They just need to. just talk about it, not looking for a solution just the comunication alone. Further many women don't understand that guys don't have this need as much. That guys want solutions for a problem.

It comes down to brain wiring. A female brain is wired with emotional centers tied to the areas of comunication while in male brains emotional centers are tied to areas for action.

Because they will always want to things their way. Females just want someone to listen to them. Just nod your head, listen and walk away.

Sometimes we just want to vent, and have someone listen and support us. Generally if we want advice, we'll ask for it. Otherwise, just give us a hug, say "that sucks" and pour us some wine.

A lot of us process our thoughts out loud. Sometimes I need to talk/complain to someone before I can look at my situation rationally.

Because they're venting. It's not about solving the problem; it's about getting it off their chest. They want you to empathize, not solve it. They can do that on their own.

Now, if all she does is complain and/or play the victim card, she's emotionally unbalanced, self-absorbed, and in extreme cases may have Borderline Personality Disorder. Don't walk, run.

It's called venting. Let them do it and agree to their issues and they'll love you more while relieving stress at the same time.
