Honestly i think it comes down to gende roles and the collapse of the family unit.
There was a time when male and female roles were clearly defined as our country has gotten more progressive ( not in itself a bad thing) those roles have become blurred.
Women sought out a guy that could provide the best life for them. Now women are empowered and have many options But due to the collapse of the family structure, many single parent households prevail. A woman's first model for what a man is comes from here father ( not surprising many women seek out attributes in a mate that her father had). But in a family where the father is absent she doesn't have that rile model. Maybe even to make things worse her mommy is bringing a different guy every week. So she's learning how to be a woman... from that!
So to return to my previous point you have a woman with options and a very vague idea of what it means to be a woman entering the dating scene. So she falls back on het genetic programming. Which is seek out the most gifted male to carry on her genes. In other words handsome. Search out the guy that separates himself from the pack a leader, a hunter someone who's going to provide. In modern terms a guy that projects confidence. Neither of these choices are wrong but this guy has his pick of 50 other women. And why pick one if you can have all 50. Remember my earlier point she had no father, no role model, she has no idea what a good man looks and acts like. And lacking that all important in self respect her father would have instilled in her and her mother eroded away if she ever had any. This young lady buys every word this amooth talking handsome guy says. If she's lucky she doesn't get pregnant. But either way she gets tossed to the side after he's had his fun. This happens again and again. Wash, rinse, repeat, until either she wises up and learns to see through the BS or until she becomes so bitter and jaded she doesn't trust any guy. Not realizing all along the power was all in her hands she's rhe one who said "no" to every decent guy and "yes" to every "f***boy". But somehow in her mind ALL guys are to blame for her mistakes.

What’s your typical approach and what do you look like, how do you dress? I get my fair amount of rejection but not enough to take it personal.
I’m a black American, 5’5 muscular. I guess my top three personality traits are goofy, intelligent and confident. I date mostly white women so that’s where I’m pulling the majority of my experience from.
Rarely do I meet women who are cold or straight up rude. They’re usually polite and pleasant. I’ll say about 75% are pleasant, 15% are busy or going through something and 10% are just either jaded with men or rude in general.
Even with the girls who reject me it’s usually with class. Some even apologize for saying no. Some do give fake numbers but I don’t take that personal anymore after I was educated on how much harassment women go through. A fake number is just a way to avoid confrontation and unpredictable scenarios.
But I do get dates. My strategy is patience and persistence. I meet girls that catch my eye and eventually I meet one that likes me. I’ve never NOT gotten a date. The only time I don’t get dates is when I get in my own way (negative thinking/not trying). But once I’m out of my own head I get dates fairly quick and easily.
I don't take rejection personal either, or have expectations for specific reactions, more the contradiction of stares, but coldness when I talk to women is what I don't understand, because all I do is go up and try to start a conversation, nothing out of the ordinary.
I'm in good shape, but dress casually, usually sweats, t-shirts, muscular, take care of myself, but for my health, not to impress anyone. Lack of effort may be it, once I approach, if she's cold, I back off, leave it to her to return interest, and continue on with my life.
Because women no more feel comfortable being approached, there are just too many fuckboys out there. I firmly believe that when extramarital sex becomes easier to get, marriage and long term relationships become harder. You no more know who wants you for sex, who wants you for your money, and trust me, it feels extremely risky to respond to any man ever. Some of us just don't wanna deal with this shit anymore and prefer to be left alone. I'll admit, I'm quite a bitch to unknown boys. I don't give a rats shit what they think, just how the public won't give a rats shit to how I would feel if I responded and somehow ended up getting 'used' by that man and everyone would be blaming it on me for being stupid enough to go out with that jerk. Just telling you the harsh reality of life, buddy.
Also, even though every single person embraces the tradition of the man making the first move, we all forgot a small thing that used to happen prior to a man making the move. Normally it used to be the woman dropping a handkerchief or something else, the man would pick it, approach her with 'excuse me you dropped something' and start a conversation from there. No one tells women anymore to drop that handkerchief. Women no more open that scope for men to approach them and start a conversation. So even men can't tell who wants to be approached and who doesn't.
This answer makes me sad because you should never assume just because you have had a couple bad things happen to you the the next guy will be the same way its not his fault shit happened to you and unless he does something to make you feel uncomfortable or something you should at least give them the benefit of the doubt the way your thinking is completely unfair cause to someone who has done nothing to you he shouldn't have to pick up the pieces of your shattered psyche... But... You never know they might be willing to give them a fair chance they may surprise you
It’s not that nobody tells the woman to drop the handkerchief anymore, it’s that she doesn’t do it so the guy doesn’t know she’s interested. These days the handkerchief comes in the form of eye contact or a smile.
@FlirtingwithDizazter true but nowadays not only is it hard to tell who is the bad guy, but also these days by the time a woman finds the truth out it's often too late. It's kinda like the MGTOW guys now who just overall wanna avoid marriage because of the divorce trap that they believe many women set in.
And again, if he's someone who is serious that's great... But so much could go wrong if he isn't serious. Most importantly, it would be completely blamed on me if that happens. Look at single mothers or heartbroken women. People are telling them left and right that they are the ones who chose bad guys, they are the ones who let a man use them, they are the ones who are irresponsible or whatever... And you know how some guys now just hate on any woman that rejects them? Yeah. Women just don't wanna deal with all that anymore. Commitment is becoming harder and harder with time, especially for men.
@justme1171 eye contact and smile alone isn't enough in my opinion, but it could also depend on the situation. Anyway, a lot of women are still taught that they are supposed to suppress their feelings even though it's Judgment Day tomorrow they just shouldn't reveal their feelings and the guy must make the move first and she has to make all these weird hints at max. Women actually have to give a hint that men will understand.

Because giving legal consent isn't the same as genuinely wanting to do something. If you manipulated her into doing it, you didn't win her heart; you just won her body. That's why she resents you.

@Optymistyk talk show host Tom Leykis used to get calls on his radio show, of women taken advantage of, manipulated, always responded with one basic premise: who chose the man?
When I got manipulated, I got books on body language, communicate, studied microexpressions, went to bars and clubs to learn to identify different types of women (genuine, manipulators, etc.), took it upon myself to make sure I knew how to navigate reality effectively. I rarely experience women obsessively educating themselves in skills which might help future prevention.
Far more continue with social media, search for the "perfect" relationship, whatever their objective is, far more than obsess to develop skills which will at best prevent, at worst minimize, the event from happening again, but instead blame the men, when they're at fault, relative to effort, or lack of, made to ensure future success.

I never understood guys who will just come up and ask for a number and expect her to think "yeah sure I totally get by the way you keep looking me up and down with nothing but lust in your eyes that you are someone looking for a serious relationship and not just sex! I totally get that you are sure our personalities would match just by staring at me for 5 seconds straight! You must be right who cares if I don't feel anything for you let's just go on a date cause everyone deserves a chance!"
Also staring at someone doesn't mean you're interested, there are plenty reasons that would make an eye contact happen.
Now it's pretty sad if you automatically want to get in a relationship with anyone you find semi attractive, that's quite desperate and not the way to go.
True but how do you initiate "getting to know someone" so you can get to your phone number. Most married people are random strangers at first most of your partners will be. So don't forget on our side we don't know you or where you live we may like you but as soon as we leave that public place were probably never going to see each other in a city full of people and if your not even going to give a phone number how are we going to arrange a date or talk to get to know each other. Don't also forget the whole point of a date is to get to know each other so when a guy asks for your number it's so he can take you on a date so you will know "if you don't feel anything for him".
But the the thing is that the feeling of the second part is rarely ever taken into thought. The hard truth is the feeling is over than half of the time not shared.
You should spend a minimum of time actually talking whether it be asking the cute girl you saw in the biscuit shelf what are her favorites or if she often comes to the club you saw her at, and if the feeling is good then SHE'll keep fueling the conversation or give her number or a date herself.
If you've got no time or see immediately that the feeling is not shared then don't waste your time on her and let her be.
I can only speak for me here but I have that thought in my head problem is I can’t read your mind. I don’t know if your into me the only way is to talk which brings me onto your second part. While I agree that’s what I would like too how exactly would you do that? You only will see each other once that whole time after that I have no contact with you I don’t know where you live which would be creepy to ask your number your daily schedule your workplace etc. Don’t even know if live in this city for me 50% of people don’t even life in my city they’re visiting.
Another thing I could add is guys deal with so many girls “fuck girls” who waste time we put in so much effort like you say to and still get a no so I don’t blame guys for wanting your number so we know your serious I guess.
The problem is too many guys have ruined this way of flirting because they just can't take a hint. When the girl says "no I don't want to give you my number, I'm not interested" you should just move on.
However too many guys see that as her playing "hard to get" which is nearly never the case.
You can see it from their face that they're not interested and uncomfortable, so you should just leave them and not force her to give it when she'll just block you immediately after anyway.
While I never do that I can probably agree because a friends of my friend said to do this I said the opposite and he said no you don't want things to be too easy do you and I was like why would persist if she said no I didn't get it even if she's flirting I don't have time for that. But he had that strange mentality.
Although it's a completely different story for me because no woman is ever straight forward with me I actually had a girl who wanted to say no with a lie which I didn't appreciate I never chased her but next few days she started posting pics on facebook kissing boys she also coincidentally joined the same gym as me went to places I was would see her a lot more even had a boyfriend but was always in front of me somewhere at which point I realised she was a fuck girl regretting her choice trying to make me jealous. If a girl says no to me that's fine no issue my issue is with actually liking you but not giving your number because you dont know the person.
The thing is meeting women is difficult, I mean right women who is at least educated, decent and good looking. You see it one way as if not many women are out there to get the rich six fig guys. When it comes to being superficial women are more, at least men are content with good looks only, women also want to dig deep into your pocket and rob you of everything.

Before I continue this... No, I am not bitter. And yes, I have a girlfriend I have been dating for years. What I am about to say is from pure experience in my past.
First off... let me tell you why I choose my girlfriend. She was EASY to talk to. She seemed INTERESTED. She CONVEYED her interest. She didn't wait on me hand and foot and made her OWN decisions.
Why am I telling you all this? Because this is where women fail in dating.
Women think dating is all about them and it's not. Here are the top three things I hear from women:
1. Men have no social skills and can't hold a decent conversation.
2. Men who are under 6 feet shouldn't even talk to me.
3. Men have no idea how to date these days.
These are the top 3 things I hear from women... yet, these are always the same women I see pregnant by a man who has no real value (a loser) or they always date some type of scummy man.
A lot of women put a emphasis on their looks and they think that is what makes them a prize, so they instantly cut off men they perceive as "low value" when in fact, a lot of these men are high value.
Those are the types of women you don't want to date. If you find yourself talking to a woman and she is playing hard to get, making you do everything and making you drive the conversation, just leave.
There are women out there who know that looks aren't their only sticking point and will converse with you, show interest and show their intelligence. Those are the types of women you want to date.
There’s a theory that average and below average women get so much attention from azz kissers online that it has inflated their egos. Now a woman who is a 5 thinks that she deserves a 9 or 10 level man.
Also these women are getting sex from 9s & 10s due to online stuff. This also inflates their sense of worth relative to the average guy.
But when these women try to get into a serious relationship the higher value guys aren’t interested. Actually more and more average guys aren’t interested either because they remember how ‘she’ rejected him time & time again.
This all comes to a head when the woman hits the wall... that is when her looks decline and high value guys don’t even want her for sex.
This is why there’s talk of a future point in time when (many) women will have zero options. An apocalypse.
I find it ironic, unexpectedly, this question not only gets more answers from men, but men, often, offer clearer insight.
This aligns with my experience, women stare a lot, but on approach get a cold reaction, then continue to stare, but because they believe themselves more valuable, while in reality nobody is "above" another, they think they're entitled to put up walls for men to jump through it seems.
Advice from many women is it's my job to break walls to make up for the last however many men who hurt her, so I just ignore her, indirectly, once I've made contact, wait for her to return interest, if interested, and many responses are I'm supposed to make an effort.
I'm beginning to understand this more clearly.
Honestly? We're sick of guys seeming interested but only interest in a one night stand or "talking" to 24 different women. We're sick of thinking we 're dating this great guy only to find out he's constantly talking to other women online or liking their photos or flirting on social media. We're sick of people taking advantage of us when we're being nice and then getting mad because we smiled and were polite but didn't want to sleep with them. We're told we're sluts and flirts and teases 24/7. If we don't put out, we're prudes. Its just easier to be cold hearted when you're a modern woman. Besides, we all have the expectations of having to work PLUS taking care or the household and still looking "hot". We're just tired.
You just have to find the right one, I guess. They aren't all winners, but I'm sure you'll find somebody someday.
I'm also getting sick of the cycle of thinking I have somebody nice and then they go and dump you for somebody else, but hey, there'll be somebody out there who's right for me.

Watch some videos and read some GAG's to see the reality of their life. I think population density, culture, upbringing and propagated trauma have influenced. They get hit on, abused, sexually abused, are weaker and so more easily hurt, they are emotional creatures and often receive many rounds of trauma as they grow, discover opposite sex, date, get hurt, raped, date raped, drug threat, verbal abuse, cat calls, groped, mis treated, devalued, played emotionally. They hold the keys to the kingdom of pro creation and they hold it close (or should). They can get the same routine over and over... players, liers, unmature guys, narcissitic selfish pricks, guys who are just nuts, ones that ask for nudes and send unsolicited pics.
Then... when you walk up as a nice gentleman, they are supposed to light up and be kind! Not so fast, not so easy.
Women of today have very high and foul egos, because they know society glorifies them, so they figure they can act however they want and be rude to men because they think they can always get one at any time. It also doesn't help that the bacteria of female narcississm has grown badly over the last few decades from praise and from society excusing them from most wrongs.

- This has been my experience in the past as well, and the thing about it is that these women wait for you to say something to them just so they can act like that on purpose. It gives them a sense of satisfaction that they can brush off a guy just for talking to them.
It could be many many things, ha shit it could even be your imagination, however I know from having mostly female friends that being approached by a random dude can be anything from irritating to outright scary, I've seen guys talk to girls and even a slight hint she isn't interested ends in him spewing a flurry or the foulest insults they can think, I once got into a scrap with a guy for walking past my best friend, grabbing her ass and when she said fuck off he called her a fucking slut, interactions like this I feel make many females feel nervous in some situations that are perceived as an attempt to "pick them up", ha I usually let females make the first move when striking up a conversation or what not, key tip is don't just approach them and try to "pick up" let interactions and relationships naturally come about
Because we KNOW why you are trying to approach us and we don't want to be 'approached' that way. If a guy only approaches me to date me, I will act distant or cold. If I don't trust them, yes, I will react nervously. That's why I feel comfort in male friends because at least they don't do that to me with poor intent. It's not your social skills. Its that fact that you are a complete stranger attempting to 'get to know us' when we may not desire that. A stranger asking us to open up will send alarm bells going for we do not know you. At the same time, while not all men are bad, most of you do the same thing other creeps do. This is what most women feel and many guys don't care to respect that. The other part is feminism and others being arrogant towards guys. I at least treat every guy with respect. But for the most part, I don't want somebody to approach me if they don't need my help genuinely or interested in being friends.
@pooper89 How is my attitude nasty? You meet people by going out, talking to people and forming relationships. Not having expectations that others are not obligated to do. I, first of all, do not agree with dating complete strangers. Only friends who you already share compatibility with. I am polite to everybody unless they give me a reason to not be polite.
If women are staring a lot, they most likely are noticing something peculiar whether your look or vibe and may not be that they are attracted or find you attractive. You might look or have a look that resembles guys they know. You're hair cut is a bit different too. Generally, women finding a guy cute don't just start. Women are more subtle and just rarely do that. They more often will glance a lot or toward your direction or even if others are around, glance side eye at you at times and just a vibe of them aware of your presence.

But the little description you provided gives the impression that You are an Attractive man or a Good looking guy! I don't have a good clue about this either, but i have the suspicion its actually a side effect of modern culture and depictions of high standards. Women are naturally inclined to seek the best, so if they are surrounded by unrealistic standards then no real man can compare just as they keep thinking they need to match an unreasonable standard themselves. I can't recall the source but there where statistics where 80% of men on a site where rated below average by the women which statistically does not add up.
The demonising of , and portrayal of males as lesser beings by the Western " education " systems , esp uni level , and the " media " plays a huge role. Also females are far more desired by males , on average , than vice versa , added to that there are more men than women , esp in the younger age groups , even the most mediocre woman will always have more opposite sex options , than a comparatively more attractive man... Batemans Principle at work Most women are sick of male attention , hence the " bitch shield " is often deployed at full strength.
I keep hearing this, I graduated high school in the United States in 2006, and did not experience, or detect, much of this demonisation of males that keeps being talked about, but am starting to understand this better from replies.

This explains why. I was trained by a classic alpha male, but he also taught me things like strength is honesty, build up mental strength, be prepared to face any consequence, unafraid to look anyone in the eye, be truthful. I look on everyone, as best I can, without status.
If I reach out to a woman, I do not reach 10 times waiting for her to grab my hand; if she doesn't, I leave, she can come back and reciprocate later, or not, it's her choice, but it's this sense of any indecisiveness or indirectness I lose patience with, which is why I want to understand what motivates it.

Society is falling apart, we’re witnessing a rise to corruption. We need to step back and adopt the moral codes of the past. More men should be raised the way you were, and more women should be raised to be what they are... Women. I hope to see a day where women aren’t told that they need to compete with men, where women aren’t told that their worth lies in being masculine. I hope that women can start accepting their femininity, and completing men again, rather than competing with them.
The thing that stood out was the logic behind honesty and strength, which on surface don't seem directly related, but if you can be honest, you no longer care what others think, obsess over approval of others, act for reaction, only present your genuine self, which also serves as a foundation for happiness, self-esteem, and confidence. I was lucky to discover honesty is the answer to the majority of central character development, including respect, and ability to maintain relationships with a solid foundation.
Not gonna lie, they are often unaproachable. I know I am. I'm friendly and everything but when I'm out I have the don't look at me, don't talk to me and don't touch me glare on my face. And we are like that because we are fed up of unwanted attention.

His ego drove him to make the argument I wasn't able to separate emotion from logic, since status is perception, I simply separate logic from emotion better than him, which effectively aligns him with exactly what he attacks, judges, and criticizes others for. Now, if he responds by anything other than logical foundations, he is guilty of exactly what he attacks others over.

When a stranger walks up to me, I'm always a little nervous. I assume if he is flirting with me, he is trying to distract me somehow. I know it's stupid or weird, but that's my initial reaction. I've gotten better about it as I've gotten older. But I don't go out to be picked up. So I'm never expecting it.
What's a good way to get through this? The women I have gotten to know, along with men, generally all get along great with me, it's that first reaction I'm confused about, especially with the staring, the cold reaction is what confused me, because they didn't add up.
For me, the best think is to just be friendly. I think what puts me on guard is when a guy just is flirting too hard and it makes me feel uneasy. So just try not to flirt too much? I fell like that isn't helpful. But I'm more approachable initially if it seems more friendly than sexual.

I’m always polite and friendly around strangers but some women may not want to socialize or receive any attention. I don’t think guys realize just how much unwanted attention women get. Some are just sick of it. I have personally gotten myself into many difficult situations that would have been very easy to avoid if I had just acted cold or unapproachable.
Most likely they're nervous and they don't know what to say to you. Regardless of who approaches who, if she's staring at you and likes you and she's not hugely confident in general, she's gonna be shy at first. In general when you approach you have to do most of the talking to begin with to give them a bit of time to warm up to you. You also have to make conversation easy for them and make it fun.
It's not that they're unapproachable. They either don't want to be approached, or you're approaching them in the wrong way. If your motive is to hit on them, they're going to see right through it. Start a genuine conversation and gauge her reactions. She'll let you know whether or not you can approach her like that.
Im totally like this. If im out alone and on a mission.. Im not approachable.. my resting face is quite bitchy. It's a relatively new phenomenon. Due to the change in social structure over the last century, women have become (in general) more exclusive in their social groups. Don't fret, but keep trying.

@Kdude010 she's not likely to respond, which is typical the moment someone begins to respond to logical debate with character assassination, usually a last resort when there are no counter-arguments left, which would otherwise be made, it's like a last-ditch "hail mary" in the last seconds of the game, when there's little else they can do.
She's, at most 24, which means her mentality likely perceives confrontation of beliefs, discourse, among everything else in western society, as a status competition, battle of egos, with winners and losers, her response makes sense.
@Kdude010 your generation is a reflection of its education, in many countries, education isn't monolithic, as many can explore endless information outside mainstream, but given fad diets, make money, relationship material, what many choose is whatever's most convenient, and thus buy into inferior education, and belief systems, but fail against someone who strives to achieve mastery in competence and skill.
The woman who posted this hasn't responded since is typical of what I experience more and more, ability to debate is weak, while narcissism is high, the combination creates a situation where she gets destroyed at every turn, until desperate resort to attacks on character are her last effort, because a system teaches many to believe themselves "well-educated", but leaves many, in many ways, ignorant, as well all are, except they don't believe themselves ignorant, and thus make little effort beyond requirement to learn, or grow.
depends where you are mate. if you're at social type gathering (bar/club/party/etc) then I don't know, if you're like at like the supermarket, or the gym, you're game gotta be on point man.

They are not. I approach them all the time. Especially really beautiful women, they are the nicest to me.
Also, are you meeting in places where people go to meet for that? Outside of that, no one is really approachable.
Not a matter of unapproachable. They lack quality. low developed in the area's that count. they rarely approach themselves, makes themselves creepy by doing the old being extra available and hitting around the bushes.
They are looking for something in a guy. I have yet to figure that out. I work all the time, live in a nice home take care of myself. Apparently doesn't work..
I find multiple women who stare at me, and continue to do so after, but react this way on approach, not so much demand, or expectation of specific outcome, but the discrepancy between the actions doesn't make sense, this is what I'm trying to gain clarity on.
Honestly cause just so use to everything getting steered to sex so quickly that many females are over it and are on the defense. Good wingmen help. I would have to know how the first couple min of conversation to really give you a better perspective
I don't have a specific conversation, or approach an attractive woman different than I might talk to a 70-year-old man, even at work, for example, just go up start conversation, talk about whatever, not sexual, chasing numbers or anything, even just conversation.
There was girl at work I began talking to, after I talked to her a couple times, suddenly a couple of her friends who work there, would go from kind of distant, to suddenly start conversations, and talk openly, I can only assume because she said something, but it was like a night-and-day difference, whereas before just a conversation was more like trying to pry a stuck door open.
It's not even the first couple mins of conversation. If I can get to a couple mins of conversation nearly always everything goes perfect, gain not goal-directed, to get anything, but get along, and have conversations, it's getting these women to even have conversations, also, I nearly never have this issue with men at all.
Well in Miami, many are gorgeous but super materialistic. Guys who are not from Miami or are average, give them a bad reputation. The average or ugly girls still show flashiness
Because they don’t like to seem desperate or like they’re the ones who wants something and then gets rejected for it. But it’s ok for us though apparently.
