Do the majority of females find it embarrassing to buy tampons from stores?

On a school outing a girl in the class had her period and didn't have any money and she asked me if I could buy her tampons. I agreed and when we got to a convenience store I brought my stuff up to the register and she came right behind me and put a box of tampons on the counter and as soon as the cashier scanned it she hid it in her jacket and walked out. I didn't mention it to anyone else or a make it a big deal and it felt great to help her but she was for sure embarrassed

Depends on the situation I would think. However they are for a normal female part of life. So while it might be uncomfortable. Still need to get some kind of female hygiene product.

In past relationships I have picked them up for the girl I was dating at the time. If she asked me to do s. Or I noticed she was running low on them. And was not gonna be getting paid until during or after her next period.

No I don't feel embarrassed to buy tampons for myself. It's a natural process every female has to undergo. I don't know why the society labels it as a taboo.
We as kids were raised by our parents in such a way that today sometimes even my brother goes to buy tampons for me.

Why? It comes in a box. Checkers are mostly women and none have time to view everything you buy anyway nor care. It is a natural product just as condoms are. Besides, I use the Self Checkout so only I see to begin with.

Nope. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, especially since cashiers don’t give a rat’s ass what you’re buying. They just scan it and plop it in the bag.

Honestly I'm in my twenties and still find it embarrassing to buy feminine products from a store. I don't know what it is, but I just feel like people are aware of it but just do the polite thing by not commenting. Either way I feel a little self-conscious about it :) I can't imagine what it'll feel like when I buy a pregnancy test in a few years lol
