+1 yfor me it is like this ! I send a man a message because I am upset with him about something he did or said to or about me behind my back which is gossiping and wrong to do ! then I read the message and decide that what he was doing that made me mad at him in the first place was not so bad after all ! so rather then delete the message I am writing him I just write after the message , ha , ha , ha ! hopefully my doing this , ha , ha , will let him know that I am not mad at him anymore and forgive him too ! Thanks

+1 yIt depends on the context of when and how she does it. I mean that's a tough one. Some people (even guys I talk to) put lol and haha on the end of almost every text they send! It could be to show they like talking to you... or they don't have anything else better to say so they "laugh."
On a sidenote, I hate when people say lol or lmao and they're not really laughing in real life :|
Like I said, it really depends on how and when she uses it.00 Reply
+1 yIt usually means that she finds what you said to be funny or amusing and wants you to know that she thinks it is. Whether or not it's sarcastic, is completely different question. Personally, I would take it at face value. I can't speak for her intentions.

Asker+1 yHow about if nothing funny is really said
- +1 y
If so, it could just mean she's just generally cheerful. I personally know a lot of folks who end almost every sentence w/ LOL or LMAO. Even in the case you presented, it's likely a good thing since if a girl isn't very interested, you won't see abbreviations like these with any response. Again, I don't really know, and this is mostly speculation from my end.
+1 yI do that a lot. I just have a good sense of humor and to me it is a way of interjecting "light heartedness" to what I am saying. A LOT of my texts to friends will say "LOL" somewhere.

+1 yShe’s being flirty. I personally use 😊 and 🥰 a lot.

Asker+1 yI think she’s being flirty somewhat too, but a lot of women seem to disagree. Maybe I’m just sorely mistaken? She could just talk this way, I don’t know.
- +1 y
I agree with you
Flirt a little back. Subtly. Feel her out. See how she responds.
I prefer "hahaha" or "hehehe" over "lol"/"lmao"/"lmfao" as it seems more natural. It's just my way of talking through text as I'm a giggly and bubbly person by nature and in the flesh. I attach the bit to make it known that the sentence was meant to be light hearted/funny.

+1 yI do this when I’m trying to make it clear that I’m joking about something, that I’m not serious, or that I’m intending the nature of the conversation to be lighthearted or fun. That’s it. If you’re trying to interpret this as a “clue” that this girl might be into you, this is just another example of you looking waaaaay too far into something a girl does.
00 ReplyMaybe she is trying to lighten up the situation.
Like you are not in the lovey dovey stage for her to send you hearts and kisses but she doesn't want to come out as cold so she uses those emojis instead.
Also she might think that using the other emojis such has hearts and kisses and so might make her look cringy.
Finally she might just be a fun and chill person and this is how she usually behaves with everyone.00 ReplyI'd say definitely means she is into you. I use lol or lmao if I want to sound flirty and lighthearted. Its basically the text equivalent of giggling or laughing at all your jokes

+1 yFor me, it's mostly nervousness, and for the text to read, I guess more upbeat, for lack of a better word? There's not much tone to text, so I guess the laughing makes up for that in a way. I use exclamation marks for the same reason.
10 Reply 687 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. I rarely use those words. But to me they are a clear indication the person is being tenative and does not feel very confident in making their feelings or opinions known, so they are softening all statements.
01 Reply- +1 y
Also, when men do this I see it more often as trying not to offend. A man will make a stronger statement, and then follow it up with this. But a girl will do this, but also soften her opinions about very unoffensive things as well.
In either case, you can encourage the person's confidence by often affirming what they are saying, or you can ignore it and hope they eventually gain confidence in themselves naturally and organically, without reassurance from others.
+1 yI use those all the time to keep the convo sounding light and chill. It’s just to make it sound less formal. For me at least, it’s not an indication of an interest.
10 ReplyDepends on the context. Could be friendly joking around, could be flirting or anything in between.

10 Replyok. this is weird. i had never even thought of it before because i don't use those words. but all my girl friends use those words with me. like always. wha?

+1 yDepends on the girl. In my country, everyone really likes to laugh and incorporate jokes to everything. So sometimes it gets too hassle to type a long hahaha. Lol and lmao is way easier.

+1 yWhen I send that I guess it’s just sort of a filler. When I think I’m being funny or the person I’m talking to is funny. I definitely do it too much tho

10 ReplyIt's just talking. There are no subliminal messages. Always be direct with women. Because sadly a lot of these chicks act ditzy.
04 Reply- +1 y
There are subliminal messages everywhere online. With the person-to-person, face-to-face, body language elements being removed, people have found ways to add another layer to communication online.
And I believe many girls would not respond positively if men were as direct as they want to be.
This is a new language, and everyone who wants to be part of the game must learn it. - +1 y
Of course a lot of women would not respond positively because they have been brainwashed to just accept the practice. That's why a lot of men don't do what they want because again men are not mind readers. This is why life is so complicated because people make it so complicated than it needs to be. I respect a man who is direct as long as he is not overbearing and disrespectful. I have developed good relationships with guys and people because of it. The reason why I said there are no subliminal messages is because it can't be there by itself if nobody didn't plant the idea there in the first place. Just like inception. It is a real thing. That's why a lot of people don't really know what the other want, because they play those games, and it causes a lot of miscommunication, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings. And that is toxic and unhealthy.

Ok. I agree with what you're saying, I think.
A lot of (but not all) guys who are looking for casual flings can't exactly make that known to their targets of interest, because if they did she would feel devalued and wouldn't want to be just another number. So they play these games, being indirect, seeing what methods work to lure them in, keeping their intentions hidden.
You are amenable to them saying, "Look, this is what I ultimately want." And if the girls knew this, they could make a more informed decision on whether they wanted to proceed with them or not. Am I correct in my understanding of what you're saying? Pls clarify, if not.
In a broader context, don't you think that there are people, both men and women, who are interested in each other, but they don't want to put themselves out there too much, make this known, because then they can more easily be rejected? So subliminal messages are a way to cast an idea, or innuendo, without too much risk? - +1 y
@AmandaYVR The problem with that is that other person gets HURT in the process because they're playing games. Rejections are part of life. But rejection happens more because either both parties are selfish, unrealistic, sense there is something wrong, or don't respect the other enough to tell them the truth.
But yes, you have everything on the 1st paragraph correct. The problem is for sensitive people like me spiritually and intuitive, we feel everything. We absorb those emotions and energy and it can be very toxic. I remember the last time in K-12 school somebody did that to me and I was stressed out for the entire month. My grades were failing and most importantly I did NOT feel the same. Then that person ignored me instead of talking and gave me angry looks and now everybody in school was mad at me for not reciprocating his feelings. I felt bad for something I didn't do. It's unhealthy.
She’s boring and can’t hold a conversation. Maybe call instead of text?
