Do Guys Insult Girls Strategically To Bring Down Their Confidence?

I have experienced a lot of guys who can be outright jerks to me for no reason. When I say for no reason, I mean no reason. It could be a guy I've never met before but feels he has to go out of his way to be an asshole to me. Not all guys I've encountered do this to me, but enough to notice a trend.

The thing is, I am not cocky but I'm a good looking girl and I'm confident. I love myself and I was raised by my parents to have good self esteem. I don't think I'm better, but I've been told that confidence can intimidate insecure people.

I read this book that was written by a guy, and the author said that there are guys who dislike pretty girls so they will go out of their way to hurt them to "bring them down". Is this true? If so it's really sad. I know there are some idiot girls who fall for it but I'm not one of them and it's really irritating.

Ladies how do you deal with this? Personally I just call them out and make them look stupid in front of people.

Some guys dislike pretty girls, because they are tired of getting rejected by them constantly. It's a sort of mental disorder - they assume a girl has a certain personality just because they are good-looking. It makes logical sense, but it's incorrect in a lot of cases.

Thus, guys will treat girls like these differently. I'm a little like this myself, but I wouldn't go as far as insulting a girl to put her down. What I do is ignore her, pretend she isn't there. I don't like giving her the satisfaction of knowing that I think she's pretty, so I avoid looking at her. I know it's silly, but meh... it's how I grew up. I may not insult them, because I think it's not right, but I can understand why some guys would do it.

There is another reason why guys insult girls. It's part of a strategy to get girls to like them. I will try to explain it to you, but you will have to read this with an open mind, and understand that this is something girls don't control a lot of the time. Most girls don't think logically about certain aspects. This is why a lot of girls think they are fat, when they are not. You will see very light-weighted girls who think they are fat, just because their boyfriends tell them they are fat. I've had girls with beautiful breasts crying because their boyfriends said they weren't big enough.

Well, here's the thing, if you put a girl down, there is something about the girl that will want to improve herself to try and win your approval. Usually, beautiful girls get compliments so often, that they begin disregarding it - they stop caring about it. They barely even remember it! But as soon as someone puts them down, THAT gets their attention. And they think about what was said, and they try to change it. They WANT that guy's approval at all costs, and they don't stop until they have it.

I've seen this happen again and again and again. It's how assholes get girls. They treat them like sh*t, and the girl feels hurt about it and tries to get the guy's approval. Tries to make him like her, and will do anything to get him to do so, including put up with his abuse, sleep with him, etc.

This only work with weak-minded women and there are plenty of those going around. They don't even realize it. Just remember, the next time a guy tells you something, there's a chance he might be doing it for a reason. There's a chance he's just bullsh*tting you. There's a chance he's telling you what YOU need to here, in order for you to have sex with him. He's manipulating you, and sometimes these insults can be used to manipulate women. You can tell me I'm wrong, and hey maybe I am... in some cases. But I have seen this happen MULTIPLE times to know I'm on to something.

I understand that reverse psychology, it's kinda like when you're little and a guy's being mean to you, your parents would say "he's mean to you because he likes you." That sends a bad message to young girls and it's probably the biggest reason why so many girls date assholes because we are trained to accept it and think that's how a guy is supposed to act

wow you know I just did that to a guy, hottttt guy everything going for him. You can tell very cocky a bit used to just getting things, or compliments well no problems with girls. I have been totallly disregarding all of these things, put him down teasingly, or just being too busy etc. Basically w/e you describes I did. Not only attitude changedddddd but he does everything to win me kind of over? but I don't treat him like sh*t just don't give him attention he is used to getting

Yes, that's called playing difficult and it works for some guys. Since they're used to getting everything easy, they get bored and so when they meet a girl who makes them work for it, they suddenly start to like it more. It works for guys too except not very often, because girls usually tend to be the ones who get "special treatment" more often.

I agree with the best answer however I want to add that part of the reason for doing that is also because guys know that nice guys finish last and that they usually get put into the friend zone. And guys know that women want a guy that has a backbone and isn't afraid to say what's on his mind.

There's a difference between being a passive yes-man and a decent man. And there's a difference between having a backbone and being a rude abrasive asshole. Those guys do get girls, they're just hoes with no self esteem. I like nice guys but not the ones who are wimpy

According to my friends, I am intelligent, gorgeous, warm, gentle, down-to-earth, etc. I workout regularly, dress nicely, and take good care of myself. Yet I receive far more insults from men than compliments. The last guy that told me I was beautiful was a gay friend. The only man that has ever given me flowers was my father.

I don't know where guys get the impression that pretty girls are used to compliments. I very rarely receive compliments from interested males. Most of the time I am ignored by guys and it takes me months to develop a friendly relationship with them. The last four out of five guys that showed interest in me insulted my body, my personality, and/or my intellect.

So how do I deal with this? When guys insult me, it's game over. I cut them out of my life completely: delete them from Facebook , ignore their texts and phone calls, etc. More often than not, they continue trying to reach me, and usually change their tactics. Ex: A guy that told me I "needed to work out" texted me several weeks later to tell me I was beautiful.

Don't be fooled, however. It still hurts. Even though I don't tolerate the abuse, it still brings me to tears and damages my self esteem. I look in the mirror and feel ugly some days. I cry to my friends. Male friends that usually don't pay compliments end up stepping in to tell me what they really think.

It's sad that you had to go through the negative experiences you wrote about! Unfortunately, a lot of men have seen that kindness and respect toward women usually results in rejection or the friend zone! Once a guy gets stuck with a "nice guy" tag, women are generally repelled! So everywhere you look, guys are acting like an ass! And for better or worse, they are more successfull with women because of it!

Let's face it! If most women really wanted genuine nice guys who were total gentlemen that always treated them with utmost courtesy and highest respect, more men would strive to be that! Who are the most unappreciated, rejected and lonely men? NICE GUYS FINISH LAST! That's why the men you complained about don't want to be nice!

Let's be real here! If a guy treats a girl with continual sweet decency, he's pretty much guaranteed automatic rejection or friend zoning! So in order to avoid that, he NEEDS to be at least a little bit of a douche bag! Girls have practically made "douche bag" behavior into a basic dating requirement!
