My girlfriend beat me in chess. Will she lose attraction now towards me?

She took chess tournaments before and I didn't. I am however not a beginner in chess and actually tried to beat her in chess (not that you think I deliberately let her win). She challenged me for a game of chess, so I agreed because why not. Then she beat me in chess. Will she think, that I'm less of a man now or something? I mean I don't mind losing to her or anything but still.

While it's true that part of what attracts a lot of women is being a winner (in the sense of being skilled and competent at what you do), your girlfriend is (presumably) a human being, and capable of rational thought. If she's a tournament-level chess player, she knows what it takes to play at that level. If she does feel less attracted to you, she'll get over it. If she doesn't, she wasn't worth dating in the first place.

Chess is a competition, just don't make it seem like you have to play until you win.

I doubt there's a loss of attraction if it's something you both enjoy.

haha no not at all! i mean if she's good she might brag about it to you but she won't think less of you. if she knows her skill level and is competitive she'll feel good about beating you. don't worry about it! if you lost to her in a wrestling match though... that might be a different story lol.

eish, guy. If she's very engrossed in the world of chess, it's possible she may get an ick-i'm half joking. But if she's a woman of substance, this shouldn't matter. There is a theory in the chess dating world that women who play the game only go for guys that are stronger but that's more so in the actual professional world

If you have other good qualities then you have nothing to worry about. Most likely, if she was such a grandmaster when it comes to chess, she probably didn't even expect you to be better than her.

You should appreciate her good qualities while showing her your other good qualities.

That way it'll feel more like an equal relationship rather than one is better than the other.
