A shy girl would indirectly flirt a lot, and constantly gave signs of interest. She would often look away really fast if I caught hey looking. If she flirted intentionally, it was awkward and tense, and she'd stumble with her words.

she’s a natural flirt and doesn’t know she’s doing it and unintentionally lead you on

or

she wasn’t expecting for you to like her back and doesn’t know what to do

try asking her more directly again
