Why do people remove/hide their WhatsApp picture & status when they are upset, sad or angry?

When one is not feeling well and not have anyone to exhaust on then they do something that brings them calmness maybe for a while. Some people find it easy to fight themselves rather than fighting other.

so do they want to be left alone? Is it for attention? Are they sad and want to hide from the world?

Most of times they do this to get attention from loved ones or closed ones.
